I watched parts of the game last night flipping between this one and the Bama game waiting for the LSU game to comeback on, and I was wondering what happened to Noil?

Was it just that he was featured much?
ASU tried to take him away?
Or did Kirk jump him?

I wasn't very impressed last year with Noil, seemed to be more of a great athlete playing receiver than a legit receiver.

Also Kirk is a beast you guys have a good one in him

He is still in the dog house I think. He didn't start and didn't see his first playing time until late in the 1st quarter. Outside of Kirk, none of our receivers had a great night. I'm hoping the offense just hasn't found their rhythm. Noil will make some spectacular plays this year, I'm sure.

He was on the field all night playing DE.

It sounded like he was in trouble again and didn't start. Also I think you're right about him being a great athlete but he's not a polished receiver yet. Remains to be seen if he'll put in the work to become one.

Man when I saw Kirk as a junior, I thought he was the best WR in his class. Reminded me so much of Percy Harvin without the migraine problem.

I was shocked that he was so impressive that he would even be a starter with their depth (when they were talking about it in the offseason) let alone dominate game one.

I finally have an Aggie to root for outside of the LSU game.

Kirk is a workaholic. And he has been on campus since last December. It worked out well for him to fit into the spot that Malcolm Kennedy was in last year. I'm looking forward to watching him this year. We have some great athletes at WR (Noil, Seals-Jones), but I don't think any of them are as polished as a receiver as Kirk already is.

5 on offense that played last night (4 starters). 2 on defense.

Answer: Arizona State has a better defense against our style of offense than do the vast majority of teams in the SEC.

They're very fast. They played very smart. They sustained awesome man-to-man coverage. Their blitzes were more ingenious than Hitler's.

Personally I don't think the PAC 12 (10, 16, 11, whatever) is one fifth of what the left coast sports media want us to believe, but Arizona State has one hell of a defense for the speed spread.

I don't know a single Aggie fan and/or objective observer who's worried about Noil. Stay tuned. You'll be seeing him for at least two more years.

Three passes to Noil last night and zero completions but all were over 20 yards.

Wrong. 3 on defense, 5 on offense.
