right now if they beat the teams they will absolutely be favored against (USCe, Miss St, NM St, UTSA) it should be 8 wins minimum.

if he gets to 9 wins w/no non competitive blowouts I think he's fine.

Bet you won't say that when you're on your 7th choice.

Member that time you were hoping for Pendergrast and ended up with Steele? Like that, except with a head coach.

Never understood why people always refer to teams landing their "_th" choice

For example....

Why in the frick would LSU not call pipe dreams such as Saban, Belichick, Urban, etc doesn't hurt anything to make them say no

The Aggies have put together a very good defense. And, Knight seems like something they have missed at QB.

The Aggies will be tough to beat.

Doubt that. It's much easier to win at LSU than it is at A&m. Everyone knows that.

With the way Aggy has performed so far against really shitty teams, he should already be fired, so yeah. He's on a short leash.

Texas A&M is legit this year. I don't think they're going to fall apart as they have the past few seasons. We basically gifted them the wins in '15 and '14. They weren't actually a better team than us and were quickly exposed during league play. That's a big part of the frustration of Hog fans in this series - that they hold a five in a row streak when they really shouldn't have won a couple of them.

A&M beat us this year (handily) because they were seriously that much better. I'm pulling big time for the Aggies to win the conference. We need someone outside of the normal six teams to win it and bust the whole thing open. And the fact that it would be an expansion team and not Ole Miss or MSU? Even better. It sucks we can't be the one to do it, but I just want to see someone other than Alabama, LSU, or Auburn go represent the West and actually win it for a change.

I agree. This is the best Texas A&m team since they have been in the SEC. Most balanced.

I think they have the right mix of talent to do very well this year. If Sumlin doesn't win ten games then the Aggies need to worry. They really have a stacked team.

Are we talking getting blow outs and losing to bad teams (i'm looking at you LSU) on the way to 8-5?

I agree with you.

If you are in a situation where you are looking for a coach, and your competition has a coach that they want to keep, why the hell would you NOT make your competition give their coaches a raise?

Hell, if LSU doesn't force A&M, Tennessee, Florida, Ole Miss, Alabama, Arkansas, and Georgia to at least have a conversation with their HCs about a raise, LSU will officially have the most incompetent administration at an FBS institution (which is overkill because such is already the case).

I watched the Aggie vs Arkansas game and was impressed with A&M this year. They look well coached. If something goes wrong on the back end of the schedule, I think he will survive.
