Manziel: You would think there had to be a coach on the staff that Manziel was close to during his time at A&M or someone else involved with the university (a former teammate) that could reach out to him and make an attempt to put him on the straight and narrow.

Kiffin: I know Coach Saban likes to keep tight reins on the staff and program. Do you think that he will speak to Coach Kiffin about the tweets or this new "story" about him using Tinder?

Johnny don't give a frick about authority figures. His hs coach lived with him for a bit and that didn't help

Question I had was whether someone associated with the university could get him straight at this time

For some reason I thought that I had heard the parents had money. Is this true? Could it be part of the reason why he really just doesn't care about his NFL opportunity? Honestly, even if I had money and my son was acting like this, there would be a serious arse whipping come his way.

No.

Dude's an obstinate knucklehead. He was a lost cause before he set foot on campus (RE: poor parenting), and just accelerated his own foolishness as he experienced more freedom being away from home.

I'd like to think so, but I'm concerned that he's reached the frightening point of no return.

I've been one of Johnny's biggest supporters ... as well as a vocal apologist.
I didn't have a clue about the extent of his situation.
Read a quote today that summed it well:
quote:

Johnny Manziel, a kid who was a once-in-a-generation phenom, has become a sad shell of a man.

He’s too pitiful to joke about.

He’s too dangerous to ignore.

Unfortunately, I think the only person that can help Johnny right now is himself. Really hope something makes him see the light, cut ties with his current circle, and get help.

Sure it is a serious question. Coach Saban for a long period of time would not allow assistant coaches speak to the media. He wanted to keep the program as close to the vest as possible. We went through this while he was at LSU and I know he has done the same at Alabama.

I just think it would be driving him insane to have Coach Kiffen posting twitter pictures or this other issue (I doubt it is true) going on. Coach Saban has never taken shots at other schools, so surprised he would allow anyone associated with the program to do it.

What kind of shot did he take?

He recently posted pics of Auburn and Knoxville on the road signs, which is obviously a little twist of the knife. It just appears to be something that Coach Saban would not approve.

This has never been something he's been willing to do.

It's obvious and unfortunate (for him). Root of the majority of his problems.

Saban probably doesn't give a frick, Kiffin had helped us to two SEC titles and a Natty.

He recently moved in with Josh Brown. That should tell you a lot. The knucklehead is a knucklehead.
