They have obviously been tamping down the NCAA stuff the whole time, basically reporting or repeating what the OM admin has been saying.

Were they knowingly lying to the fan base, or were they simply reporting on what the lying administration was saying (being lied to).

Remember, at first...no football allegations, then all previous staff, then can't wait to tell our side, then no 2nd NOA, etc.

Basically, have they colluded or been used?

They pump sunshine, and the OM fans eat that shite up. None of them are ever called out if wrong though.

I think most are honestly either just fans first or know that something positive gets them clicks and views while something negative gets them an inbox full of four letter words. It's a small journalistic community and you can't be excluded.

It's a little bit of both. Besides the beat writer from the Clarion Ledger (Jackson) I don't know of a non-fan covering Ole Miss.

It can be said about the media covering MSU, also.
Only ones I know not a fan is the Clarion Ledger beat writer and the new beat writer at the Columbus Dispatch (30 miles from Starkville).

Print media is dying. It's no reason to rock the boat. That's their lively hood and why go snooping for something that will bite you in the arse.

The first NOA there was sunshine pumped out because that's what their sources told them. Their sources were the university and they didn't want it to dismantle their recruiting class given the NCAA leaked the NOA info the weekend before NSD.

Since the middle of the season OM writers have said a bowl ban is possible and the NCAA is out for blood and won't stop until they get it.

As far as sunshine pumping, there are some, hell most that cover OM, that's how it is everywhere but keep in mind McCready was the one who asked Tunsil if he took money from coaches and he's been saying OM is going to be hammered for 8 months now.
