I realize a winning record is a once in a decade occurance for auburn, but that isn't the only measure of the health of a program.
I guess your still pissed Mike turned you down all those years ago.

You guys were ready to fire him a couple weeks ago. Thank God we dodged that bullet and never even gave him an interview.
Posted on 2/25/17 at 10:50 pm to BowlJackson
True, auburn didn't require and interview before offering him their job which he promptly turned down.
Such sneaky wording to deny the fact you are only auburn, a place of rebuilding ones image or a stepping stone, not a destination job.

I don't have to know a single thing about Arkansas to know it wasn't worse off than Auburn when Pearl took over. That's how bad it was. There was no worse P5 job at the time. Do you even Tony Barbee?
Posted on 2/25/17 at 10:58 pm to BowlJackson
Did tony have a strong dependency for opioids that left the program with a roster of questionable people and a rpi in a delicate situation?

When Auburn was put on probation, Anderson turned down an interview request. He never got the offer because of that.
You pointing out how big of a shite job Auburn is only contradicts your dumb AF argument about Bruce and AU vs Arkansas when the coaches took over
Arkansas could lose every game next year and still be in better shape than Auburn for a good coach
Bruce had only 1 Tony Barbee player make it to year 2 and he couldn't recruit w the show cause
You don't get much shittier in terms of a situation

Bobby Petrino?
Houston Nutt?
Danny Ford?
Ken Hatfield?
Lou Holtz?
Literally every football coach you've had since Broyles has used Arkansas as a stepping stone or to rebuild their image, except Bert who used Arkansas to run away from a Broyles-like AD (ironic, huh?) If Bert was good enough we all know he'd use Arkansas as a stepping stone, but he can't. Yall wish he would at this point though
Auburn coaches leave when we tell them to. Name the last Auburn coach in football or basketball to use us as a stepping stone. You can't, because they don't because you pulled that out of your arse. Pearl may have come here with an image to fix but he said himself he's staying here. Sounds like a destination to me.

So you admit that Bruce took over a shittier situation with a program with less resources than Arkansas?
Bruce style is definitely less effective with the new rules, no debate there.
Winning at Auburn is a fricking unicorn. He deserves a shite ton of credit. No one has pulled that off

Every name on that list was either fired or told to find a new job before publicly being fired.
That isn't a stepping stone.
Bruce had no problem turning Tennessee around, but it appears his ceiling at auburn is the nit bubble.

Lobo won at auburn, but you thought you could and deserved better.

Pel recruited 6 players in 2008 only one was on the roster in 2009.
We lost a schlly because of apr
Lost a top 10 player in his back yard
Drug addict who was so pitiful he once challenged A player to one on one, got beat then kicked said player off team (true story)
Then saddled with apr issues signed the most overrated recruiting class in human history on his way out that mike was stuck with

Petrino was already widely regarded as a world class POS long before the motorcycle thing at Arkansas.
He literally used Arkansas both to repair his image (personal image and ad a coach after failing in ATL) and as a stepping stone to get back to college before he got canned in the NFL

Pretty absurd to say NIT is the ceiling for a NIT bound team who gets ~80% min + scoring from Freshmen

Auburn isn't going to the nit as of today.
Teams that play on the first day of the sec-t are not rewarded with a nit invite.

Seriously auburn has a good team.that center is going to be a mid first rounder one day. U start four freshman u go take lumps. I think they firmly make the tourney next year and if everyone sticks around will be challenging for the title in 2 years

Ya, after those great seasons at Arkansas everyone was jumping all over him.
I'll give you a pass tonight because you have a hard time handling your alcohol

You think that's worse than Auburn? You fricking serious?
Auburn had only 1 Barbee player/recruit make it to year 2. That's from shittier teams than Pelphrey
Bruce also could compensate by recruiting due to the show cause both when hired and for for year 2

Okay? In year 2 Pearl had literally 1 player left over from Barbee, and he sucked.
Barbee left Auburn with literally 1 player that was D1 quality and he was a senior in Pearl's first year. Why do you think we are playing and starting so many freshmen this year? Because the roster was so bad we had to get a shite ton of JUCO and grad transfers to even field a team. We were literally playing with only 7 scholarship players and with Cinmeon Bowers getting time at PG for half of SEC play last year.
It may have been bad at Arkansas, but I promise it didn't come close to the situation at Auburn. Pearl has been frustrating on game days but the fact he's positioned this program to have a winning record in only year 3 is a miracle. First one since 08-09
