Frick any a-holes who want to say you shouldn't do it because you aren't on the team. If it weren't for the fans, the team's wouldn't exist in their current state. Fans sink time, money, and energy into teams and if they want to feel a part of it, they should.

There's nothing wrong with it. Fans of opposing teams use it as a way to talk shite when they have nothing else.

It's really just so much quicker to say "we" than "the team that I root for".

For current students or alumni I agree.

It's annoying to hear a clear walmart fan saying it tho.

There is nothing more annoying than hearing NFL fans use "we" when referring to a team they cheer for in a city or state in which they've never lived or visited.

I agree with the OP but saying "good game" to opposing fans after the team plays is retarded. As is congratulating opposing teams fans.

Of course it is. The only time when I call someone on it is because I am trolling.

Have 18,000 posts filled up your void or do you have a ways to go?

It's just not a big deal. It's a brief, convenient way of refering to the team you're a fan of. People who ridicule fans for it are only making themselves look silly.

My favorite is "We'll focus on the next game. Can't get caught looking too far ahead."

Really? You millennials are some lazy fricks. 'We' is only 2 less letters than 'they' and it really doesn't take that long to type out the name of any team in the SEC.
