ProFBFocus: LSU's B.Harris is Top-graded QB in the SEC

quote:
The offense is not engineered for Harris to run the show — why would it be when you have Fournette to hand the ball to 20-plus times per game? However, Harris stands as our only positively graded passer in the SEC after Week 7, managing the passing game well and exploiting the space in the running game that is left as defenses adjust to Fournette’s presence. He currently ranks in the top 20 of our QB grades.
Harris has yet to turn throw an interception this season, and has not been relying on luck, either; he has produced just three turnover-worthy plays this season, compared to nine big-time throws. Translation: The LSU signal-caller is limiting mistakes and hitting on throws down the field. That’s exactly the kind of performance you want to pair with a dominant ground game.
quote:
The strength of Harris’ passing this season has been working the middle of the field between the numbers on passes of 10 or more yards, working in behind the safeties and linebackers who have moved up in the box to defend Fournette’s runs. Harris has completed 13 of 26 passes in this range for 395 yards, earning a +5.5 PFF passing grade on these throws. Compare that to SEC West rival Jake Coker (who gets to work off of star Alabama RB Derrick Henry’s ground attack), who has gone 13-of-34 for 318 yards on those throws, but has tossed five interceptions as well, earning a -1.2 grade (although Coker has been even worse on throws closer to the line of scrimmage).

Bama fans sure have grown confident with an unathletic short game qb.......

Harris is a good game manager.
Precisely what we need.

Knock on wood.

quote:Not looking past WKU, but Harris will have to be very careful against that secondary from bama. They made the "best" QB in the SEC look pedestrian last week. The number 1 HS player in 2014 didn't look as good either.

Harris will learn from the mistakes of other teams.

Harris is only getting better with time and our Oline is giving him a lot of time to throw. Can't wait to see him continue to improve over the next six weeks.

I remember, back in the good ol' Pat Dye Wishbone offense days, when Randy Campbell was the "most accurate passer in the SEC".
He'd complete about 4 passes for every 5 attenots every damn game.

Yesterday you said he won DL player of the Year last week and against Miss State.
I think you're confused.

Knee jerk much? You have been on a crusade today haven't you talking about how great their secondary is after what they did to Allen. Did you actually watch the game? Allen CHOKED big time, with some absolutely pathetic throws.
Here's another thing. Alabama has trouble against Mobile QB's......Allen is not Mobile, and strictly a pocket passer. In addition, A&M has no running game. Essentially, Bams was stacked to stop the passing game. Against LSU, they will defend LF first, and BH will be able to not only make plays with his arm, but also his feet. Two different offenses...one tailor made for Bama.....one, despite comments the contrary, not tailor made for Alabama. I will be very interested to see what Tenn does on offense this week.

What exactly does this mean? Do you not agree? Are you just laughing at the gall of someone not picking a bama player as the best in every position?
Here's a newsflash. Not only does LSU have a better QB, they have obviously a better RB, better WR's, and by far a better OL. That's a very dangerous combination. But you are bama...laugh away.

i like that you dont mention that on the other side of the ball he will be facing 75% of the top graded defensive players in the league by the same site
