Mizzou's top QB recruit that is a true freshman this year. Trent Dilfer said he is the most polished passer in the class and has the "it" factor. Also said, he is one of the few quarterbacks that the NFL will be scouting from the moment he steps foot on campus.

So is he starting? Because in order to burn your redshirt you need to actually play

I trust Pinkel. He hasn't led us astray yet.

He's not lying. Lock is the real deal. This move surprises me though.

When NFL scouts are stoked about him already, it gives good reason to be excited as a fan.

Is he a dual threat? If he's that legit they shouldn't hesitate to start him, I've never been that impressed with Mauk and a legit QB could put yall over the top

I'm not sure which backs you return but last year you certainly had the run game to ease a young QB in also

I'm just saying it's not like you turn in a list at the beginning of the year for who is going to redshirt, so they must have something planned if they're coming out and saying this

Lock is more pro-style than Mauk, but can run when he needs to. Cannon arm and very accurate. He could have gone anywhere, literally, was very highly recruited, but he committed to Mizzou early and stuck so really wasn't in the reindeer games of recruiting.

Our run game looks to be in good shape, and receivers (while young) are coming along.

He can move okay. Anderson wanted him to play basketball as a shooting guard, so he is decently mobile. Just a good overall athlete. They are saying the dude has the playbook down pat, is already making great reads and is extremely calm in the pocket. One of the coaches said he is very similar to Chase Daniel, but with more tools.

He's a pocket passer, but agile enough to make some plays with his feet (could have been a D1 hoops player as well)

I assume he's earned the #2 spot and they plan to give him some time. If this is true, that is.

He's been ridiculous all camp so who knows, but I'm not sure Im on board with this unless he's the starter and he's head and shoulders above Mauk. Even then it's risky because it would not surprise me to see all of our QBs transfer out if this happens.

Last year we had Murphy and Hansbrough. We still have Hansbrough and some high potential guys that you all don't know yet: Ish Witter, Chase Abbington, Morgan Steward...

Put it this way. He would walk in and be LSU's #1 from the moment he signed

Lock will benefit from the red shirt and will not play in one game this season with a healthy Marty mauk. Mauk is the best QB in the league right now. He has wheels and he also has a quick release while making good decisions. The kid is like drew breeze
