Just as some UGA fans give us no credit for a 6-7 previous record and a "poor opponent" in LSU. I don't think either holds water.

Based off the current teams, injuries, and coaching I think MSU has the advantage. Being the road team takes some away which is why I think its a close game. Toss up really.

nope, basing it off the fact I watched a shite OM team drag it's nutsack all over UGA's face for 4 hours the last time I saw them play.

Last year results means a lot this year. What was MSU's record last year, again?

The GA players just did not have the heart, smack em in the mouth and they lay down and give up.

And what did MSU do last season against Alabama, Auburn and Arkansas?

No major coaching changes or player additions since.

Except at QB, RB, S, WR, OLine...other than that you are probably right.

Cool, then I'm changing my prediction to 55-0 UGA based on South Alabama walking into MSU and winning last year

Not to mention Auburn, a team we beat, beat MSU by 24 last season.

Last season means a lot concerning this season, right?

You better hope that was a poor opponent. There's no definitive indication of that so far.

What indication is there that LSU is a poor opponent thus far? LSU has beaten two terrible teams by an average of 31 points. Notre Dame has beaten two terrible teams by an average of 31 points.

I'd say it's equally likely both teams are crap at this point, unless you want to base things off of last year, where ND was what, 4-8?

21-17 MSU. Gonna be a hard fought, low scoring game either way.

I do agree with this. And I have no problem with people picking MSU. I am one that believes MSU has a very good team this year.

Is there some particular reason you ignored the rest of my post, where I put up more relevant data? I personally wouldn't use last year as data for anything, but you seem to have come to the conclusion one win is better than another.

I'd love to know why.

EDIT:

I see MSU's floor being 9-3 after the first three weeks personally. The two teams seem pretty evenly matched, but I think Fitz's experience and variability end up being the difference. Equally likely home field could be the difference. Should be an exciting game either way

LSU might win 8 again this year. I'll be surprised if they don't. But basing things off last seasons record is dumb. Saying Notre Dame is horrible because they were 4-8 last year...or saying Georgia is bad because Ole Miss jumped on us last year is dumb, unless you want to admit that the results Miss. State had last year are just as valid.

I feel good about saying LSU will turn it around and end up having a pretty good record this year, and Mississippi State will have an excellent record this year.....last years results mean nothing.

Yet ignored a key piece of information? My point, is all UGA fans are hearing is Ole mIss beat us last season, and Notre Dame is a horrible team this year because they were 4-8 last year. The same people (You included) citing that data fails to mention we beat Auburn who beat Miss. State, and Miss. State was 5-7 last year. Why cite all that "relevant data" and leave out the other relevant data?

Did you even read my post?

I said that LSU and ND have both beaten two crappy opponents by an average of 31 points, and three games into the season you couldn't really tell who was better between the two.

I put in the last line as a throwaway, a "perhaps you're using last year's data." I could give two craps about last year's Ole Miss or Auburn games.

What I'd like to know is, at this stage in the season, what makes ND a better win than LSU other than subjectivity?

The people who think MSU will win this game are basing off their win at LSU. Therefore they must think LSU is also a good team this year. If you think this way I can see how you could think State wins. I think LSU is a talented team but will not be good this year and get 7-8 wins. This coupled with the two huge momentum shifts that happened with the pass interference which made it the blow out it was, lead me to see something else. State is a good team who undressed an ill prepared and poorly coached talented LSU squad who thought they would drift on talent alone, with a little help from 2 very well placed calls.

This, State is not 30 pts better than LSU. Our BS play on the field made them look like world beaters when they really aren't. They are good, and could def win but I got UGA winning with being at home being the big difference.

I think we are in agreement, just stating it differently.

its foolish to use last years results as an indicator of this year. But valid to use this years on field results to predict a game.

So just looking at everyone's predictions it is looking like Bama fans are the main ones saying UGA will win and every other fan base that UGA plays this year is saying State wins. I guess we shall see who is right after Saturday night and then we will let the butt hurt commence.
