Yep, I typed wrong.

Virginia just beat Clemson in the tourney, so they split the season series 2-2
Virginia finished higher in the ACC standings and had a winning record against top 50 RPI.

My guess at the pairings...

Corvallis/Long Beach
Chapel Hill/Lexington
Louisville/Fayetteville
Baton Rouge/Houston
Ft. Worth/Hattiesburg
Gainesville/Clemson
Palo Alto/Tallahassee
Lubbock/Winston Salem

I thought they tried to avoid replays?

UNC and UK already played a series this season.

Hawgeye, if Arkansas made it to Omaha how would they fair in TD Ameritrade Park?

I have a very small sample size of Arkansas baseball this year to go by so I don't really know if the Hogs have lived and died by the long ball.

So have they done a decent job spreading the field and making pitchers unsettled with stolen/attempted steals?

I think the Hogs would fare fine. That 2009 team lived and died by the long ball more than this one. This team can still hit the ball well to the gaps. I think the larger outfield(as you know)at TD Ameritrade would help this team a little bit because a lot of the liners they hit seem to have some carry on them.

The hogs don't have a lot of stolen bases in the stat category, but DVH likes to hit and run. Most of the time, Arkansas makes contact so that doesn't go in the stat category per say, as a stolen base.

For this team, it won't be about hitting, its going to be about pitching depth. The key for Arkansas is going to be getting out of the regional round without any losses. I think this week we saw the emergence of Murphy and Kopps as possible starters in a 4th and 5th game scenario in Omaha if they can make it that far.

But here is the deal...if the selectors do national seeds just like they did hosts, then they are going strictly by RPI...in that case.

1. Oregon State
2. UNC
3. Florida
4. LSU
5. Texas Tech
6. Louisville
7. TCU
8. Stanford
