I posted this because possums have kind of a history with my brother. My brother hates them with a passion. He'd drive his truck into a tree to try and mash one, which is even funnier because he is an Arkie fan (he lived there several years). So whenever I see one I laugh some and think of my brother =)

It bothers me that LSU is calling it a rally possum when it is not being saved for when LSU needs a rally.

"Coca Cola:" the dark soft drink that polar bears drink

Right, but either way, everyone knows you mean a soft drink. Whether you say possum or opossum everyone knows what you mean as well, though possum would, in the South, refer to the Southern USA species of the animal, while opossum might refer more to an Aussie species or something like that. No one I know says "opossum".
