The SEC could go to 16 next week if the leadership wanted to.
All that has to happen is keep ringing the cash register for a few years and a choice school from North Carolina and one from Virginia will become interested.
No need to settle for schools that will just be a parasite which is what OU would be.

I may be wrong, but it seems to me that the competition between conferences is driving TV revenue up, so I'm not sure how that's "inefficient". Not the only problem I see, but that one stands out the most.
