I keep hearing that the SEC defenses haven't face a good QB all year. That's the one big "knock"on the SEC. So I decided to look at the passing stats for this year. They are all pretty close with a few outliers.

Player A
3125 yards 29 TDs 7 INTs 87.3 ADJ QBR 65.1% Comp

Player B
2921 yards 24 TDs 5 INTs 75.7 ADJ QBR 56.9% Comp

Player C
3512 yards 30 TDs 11 INTs 86.6 ADJ QBR 69.5% Comp

Player D
3413 yards 25 TDs 4 INTs 81.3 ADJ QBR 66.9% Comp

Player E
3389 yards 35 TDs 5 INTs 82.3 ADJ QBR 68.6% Comp

Player F
3740 yards 27 TDs 12 INTs 86.4 ADJ QBR 65.2% Comp

Player G
2489 yards 17 TDs 8 INTs 69.3 ADJ QBR 65.7% Comp

Player H
2125 yards 15 TDs 5 INTs 77.2 ADJ QBR 59.9% Comp

Player A = Brandon Allen
Player B = Connor Cook
Player C = DeShaun Watson
Player D = Dak Prescott
Player E = Baker Mayfield
Player F = Chad Kelly
Player G = Jake Coker.
Player H = Josh Dobbs

If you go by Adj QBR, the QBs rank:

1.) Brandon Allen
2.) DeShaun Watson
3.) Chad Kelly
4.) Baker Mayfield
5.) Dak Prescott
6.) Josh Dobbs
7.) Connor Cook
8.) Jake Coker

If you go by Completion %:

1.) DeShaun Watson
2.) Baker Mayfield
3.) Dak Prescott
4.) Jake Coker
5.) Chad Kelly
6.) Brandon Allen
7.) Joshua Dobbs
8.) Connor Cook

I excluded the rushing yards. (which isn't a big difference either. Out of this group; Rushing QBs would be:

1.) DeShaun Watson
2.) Josh Dobbs
3.) Dak Prescott
4.) Chad Kelly
5.) Baker Mayfield

Yeah, Mayfield is probably the best of them, but he isn't worlds above Allen, Prescott or Kelly.

Been saying it for weeks, Clemson is literally an MSU clone with Watson/Dak doing all the work. Their stats are eerily similar too.

Connor Cook is the most overrarted player in America and will be completely dominated by Bama's front 7.

I've seen where scouts have him as the most ready NFL QB and has him going in the 2nd round of the NFL draft.

The difference between Allen, Watson & Mayfield is the supporting cast of players.

I'd like to see the average recruiting rankings the past few years. Watson and Mayfield are upper echelon with great overall teams. Imagine Alabama with any of those qbs, including Allen. Scary thought.

Mayfield is a really fun player to watch I would love to see him match up against Bama. He is a playmaker, but he hasn't seen a defense of that caliber.

Cook is the best pure passer Bama has faced since Swagg Kelly. There is an opportunity for success there.

Looking at this just makes me sad for Kelly.

If we had Tunsil all season then we would have been in better position to win the UF and Memphis games and he'd be in Heisman talks and probably a finalist.

That's true, the conference was ole miss' to lose after the bama win.

LSU fans are complaining about a better than expected year but ole miss saw their only championship opportunity fall through their hands....it's a shame really.

Bama's pretty damn scary with who they've got. Imagine LSU, UGA or Florida with one of those guys and they would suddenly become scary as well. Much credit does go to the QB coaches and/or OC's at those schools.

I think Mayfield is a great player and can cause lots of match up issues but I think his running ability is a bit exaggerated due to his movement in the pocket.

I guess Kingsbury thought that since Henry doesn't deserve a Heisman due to his "predator" looks. Then Mayfield didn't deserve a scholarship due to that mustache.
