Pick two teams for expansion

I think both Mizzou and South Carolina could use a few more seats. Especially if South Carolina is adding luxury suites.
A few teams are downgrading seats. I think Kentucky and Ole Miss both downgraded. However, Ole Miss I believe is downgrading capacity before upgrading it.
How long will stadium expansions continue with new technology making it easier to stay at home?

As long as people want the experience of attending a live sporting event.

Kentucky has dropped capacity at Commonwealth from a peak of 67,900 from '09-'13 to 61,000.
Vaught-Hemmingway is actually increasing capacity to just over 64,000 by 2016, but their capacity will be down to 58,600 this year during the renovations.

Correct. Logistically it just made sense if they were going to restructure the stadium like they have (and it's going to be really nice when they're done). I believe it still allows room for further future expansion.

UF needs a stadium overhaul. Mizzou also needs to expand if the Rams go to LA.

Yup we're adding field level and box suites to the south endzone as well as adding 2 new video boards. Then next offseason we're expanding the current north endzone to bowl in our high school stadium.

I don't think we need more seats but am glad we're adding more luxury seats.
80,000 capacity with room for 85,000 for the biggest games is a good number for us.

Drop Arkansas and Missouri, add the Oklahoma schools to the West, and add UNC and Clemson to the East.

Mizzou has plans to expand another 8,000 after next season.

I think most schools, outside of A&M, are handling their current expansions wisely. Focus more on suites, boxes and chairbacks and less on sheer volume.
I know Arkansas once planned to bowl in the entire north endzone with seats but now, once the basketball and academic projects are done, we are going to bowl it in with more boxes, lodge style seats on the field and chair backs in between. It's will be drastically less capacity than if they just did a bleacher bowl but it will fill up consistently while still bringing in a significant amount of money.

A. We have a larger student section than the rest of the SEC. That means when you just consider customers paying the full price we are pretty equal to most other programs. We feel massive student participation leads to higher rates of former student participation.
B. We are shrinking our capacity this season compared to last, in an effort to focus on nice new boxes and suites.

Odd that the OP hijacked this thread.
I'd add Clemson and Oklahoma.

Did not know that. Thanks for the clarification.

For an SEC game Alabama could support a 120k stadium.. For your cupcakes were lucky to get 85k there...
Bryant-Denny is as big as it will get though so it doesn't matter..
Bryant-Saban Stadium will make AT&T Stadium look like a high school field..

Oklahoma calls it "pop" instead of "coke". how could anyone be in the SOUTHeastern conference and call it "pop" instead of "coke"

Oklahoma and North Carolina. But both think they are too good academically for the SEC.

Looks like a pretty "coke" heavy state to me.

Pretty sure this is the ultimate goal we're going for by 2018.
Looking at a subtle upgrade of 85,000 to 162,000. Should be awesome once finished.

I have lived in OK for the past 15 years and can tell you this is untrue. We call it coke here too. Don't want OU in the SEC though lol
