He was unbelievably bad tonight. Denver's defense was heroic.

No way is he the GOAT, but he deserves respect. However, that could have just as easily been Osweiler's 1st Super Bowl win. Peyton was solid for many years though. It's a great way to go out for him.

He has two Super Bowl wins. What exactly is your argument?
Wait, I thought teams won Super Bowls? At least show some consistency.

Are you kidding me>? You are wildly inconsistent with your argument

Is winning the Super Bowl a team accomplishment?
Posted on 2/8/16 at 12:58 pm to AlabamaAlum07
I'm not even sure what your argument is. Manning has team and individual accomplishments. He has the most passing yards and touchdowns in history and 5 MVPs (individual). He has the most wins in history, 4 super bowl apps with 4 coaches, and won the superbowl with 2 different teams. If you're talking postseason, Brady hasn't beaten him in the playoffs in 11 years and Manning is 3-1 vs Brady Championship games.
Is your only argument that he didn't play well in a couple super bowls?

Apparently most of you never watched Joe Montana play. He is the GOAT of all time.
That said, glad Peyton won it and can ride off in the sunset.

None of this answers the question.

Well duh, Montana is obviously #1.

1st off, let me say I think Manning is arguably in the top 5 of all time. #1 of a list like that is so subjective. So don't think i'm here trying to say Manning is the undisposed GOAT.
Super bowl is obviously a team accomplishment. But did you miss the part where Peyton has multitudes of both team and individual records and awards?
What is your point?

And I agree, Peyton is top 5 all time. You just can't put him ahead of Montana and Brady because of his SB struggles.
Posted on 2/8/16 at 1:32 pm to AlabamaAlum07
Well I didn't
There's certainly an argument for him being GOAT, but that's exactly what it would devolve into, another stupid Rant argument haha

That comment wasn't directed towards you AAlum....I just used your post as a place to direct my comment which was aimed at the idiots that earlier were saying Manning is GOAT.

Only player to get to the Super Bowl with 4 different coaches
Only Player to win the SB with 2 different teams.
Only player to have 5 NFL MVPs
Only player to throw 55 Tds in a single season
Only QB to reach 200 wins

Peyton was no question one of the all-time greats. He just happened to always have bad games against a particular team. His legacy, in my opinion, is tied unfairly to the Belichick/Brady cart.
We have an organization in New England that has been caught red-handed on at least two occasions bending the rules, but are revered by the national media, while the narrative was Peyton can't win the big games. Unfortunately for Peyton, by the time he had a complete team around him capable of winning those games, his body was falling apart and he couldn't get it done.
I hope time is friendly to Peyton, I really do. Glad his lasting Super Bowl memory was a win and not another Seattle performance.

I actually thought he played fairly well. Both D's wreaked havoc on the O's but Peyton did all right. He may've actually been able to score if D Thomas didn't coat his hands in Vaseline before the game.
