For how well the SEC network has done, I cannot think of worse television than The Paul Finebaum Show. It's hours of an idiot who doesn't understand the game of football, and isn't articulate, doing nothing but blowing Nick Saban, and staging muffled calls from the same group of Rednecks. I mean aside from maybe Al Sharpton, can somebody name me a TV personality that is less appealing/has less of an ability to communicate ideas?
I can't imagine they wouldn't get higher ratings by just having one of the former player analysts doing an X/O type of show that breaks down different schemes teams run in more depth than a normal 2 minute segment on ESPN. Or just showing different SEC school's cheerleader practices.

He has a face for radio. Jerry Springer. Still so much better than it used to be. Became a celebrity due to Al from Dadeville.

Grovewater = Charles from Reeltown

I agree with you, but his callers are hilarious.

He is literally the Jerry Springer of the SEC.

I watch it hoping to get some decent SEC news and always turn it off when Tammy's redneck arse calls in screaming. No wonder the rest of the country of us the way they do.

The show ain't going away. ESPN is cutting costs and Finebaum is dirt cheap to produce.
If you don't like it, do what I do and don't watch it.

Why does anybody care about what these pundits have to say?

Exactly. I can usually watch a couple minutes until he starts taking calls from the bottom of the barrel white trash losers like Tammy, and I have to change the channel immediately.

That stuff is pretty popular though.
He appeals to the Honey Boo Boo, Duck Dynasty, Duggars demographic.

It would be very easy to name several as he is very appealing to a vast number of the country, even outside of SEC country.

We Alabamians have known this for a long time. The only, and I mean only value is he can get some good interviews on his program. But you have to listen to hear the interviews and that is like having somebody rub their teeth on a chalkboard.

It is what it is.
Finebaum's show is entertainment.
I like it most of the time, but let's be honest, it is a pretty inexpensive way to fill four hours of time. Mostly caller driven but with a few good interviews sprinkled in to give it some substance.

I listen on the radio occasionally and never watch the show.
Tammy is about the only regular caller I can listen to. Most everyone else grates my nerves with their 'I'M YELLING SO LISTEN TO ME' -OR- the 'I call in every day and praise Paul...so we must be best friends' shtick that I switch it off immediately.
The show is at it's best when it's not trying to stir the pot and encourage the callers.

The show disgusts me and Finebaum is a worm. That being said, it's not the first time I've disagreed with popular sentiment and it won't be the last. This one bothers me particularly because it reinforces a stereotype of ignorance in the South and that hits a nerve with me...but I can't control the idiots among us any more than I can control the shortsighted hypocrites who believe that stereotype.

It sucks.
Show sucks.
Callers suck, besides Charles from reel town.
Alabama fans suck and they are stupid.
I just wish dude would admit he's an Alabama Saban homer.

The calls he takes are the radio equivalent of anchored rant threads.

The show is a wonderful work of art and brilliance

I think the format would work better if they got former players to take phone calls, you could get a Tim Tebow in there once he gets cut for football season, find a former hoops player during that season and a former baseball player for that season with some of the minor sports mixed in as well.
Everyone keeps talking about Finebaum which means people are watching. Don't want him, stop watching!
