While the grudge match to determine which school has the best football program might be exciting to fans in Clemson and Tuscaloosa, it doesn’t sound to appealing to ESPN personality Paul Finebaum.

“I don’t think it’s great,” Finebaum said on SportsCenter. “This is not the NBA when we crave for LeBron versus Steph every year and the ratings go up.”

Finebaum joked about himself being a spokesperson for college football fans across the country, but he did say he feels as though the nation probably would rather see someone new such as Oklahoma, Penn State or Georgia. But Finebaum also admitted that, right now, it looks like another Clemson-Alabama game is likely.

“Right now, these are the two best teams,” he said. “And I don’t know if the third team, or the fourth team or the fifth team are really in the same universe right now as Alabama or Clemson.”

Naturally, because the last thing we want is the two best teams in CFB to have to play each other for the championship.

24/7 media coverage and need to fill airspace and twitter space is probably one of the Top 10 worst things of the 21st century

Paul Finebaum is a douche who only talks about football as it relates to coaching drama. If they are the two best teams this year then that is a game I’ll want to see.

Is this really newsworthy or something everyone doesnt' alreadyd know? No shite it's bad, nobody outside of those 2 teams would give the slightest shite about watching the same game 3 years in a row.

When can we say Dabo has surpassed Urban for second best coach? After three straight championship games?

I forget what Auburn lost by but it was definitely in the same universe. While I don't see a better team in the Acc. Is anyone seeing Clemson as head and shoulders above everyone not named Bama?

I do agree that another Clemson, Bama NC would be not ideal for college football

He's right. The interest would not be there by anyone outside of Tuscaloosa and South Carolina. Bama and Clemson fans need not comment, you can't be objective here.

A Bama/Clemson trilogy would be one of the most epic and memorable things in college football history.

Especially considering the first two games.

Finebaum isn't happy unless he's shitting on something. He's a plague to sports and it's an embarrassment the SEC network is associated with him.

Things might change, but this year is starting to look like the past 2 years, where the #1 and #2 teams trash the #3 and #4 teams in the playoffs.

Arguments like this make me want to beat the shite out of someone.

How about everyone hopes the two best teams play for the championship so dipwads like this geek have nothing to stir shite up about.

I agree that it would be bad for college football, but I disagree that Clemson is in the same realm as Bama this season.

Auburn’s offense was absolutely terrible against Clemson and Clemson only won 14-6. Their defense looked good but no one came away from that game talking about their defense. Everyone was critical of Gus’s inept play calling and o line performance.

I’d say Oklahoma, Georgia, and even Auburn in a rematch could beat Clemson right now.

I don’t think anyone can touch Bama at this point.

Right, because the last games being 2 of the best championship games ever outside Texas vs USC was terrible.

I think it would be an amazing.

Bama's dominance has ruined the SEC a little bit. Games just aren't as competitive as they used to be because Bama is light years better than everyone else.
