Pat Summitt is someone who deserves a statue. Most coaches do not

Pinkel shouldn't even get a building named after him let alone a statue. He couldn't win a conference championship in 4 attempts and he singlehandedly attempted to destroy Mizzou football on his way out by supporting the racist black power movement.
Perhaps Pinkel deserves a statue next to Jonathan Butler's statue out by the columns.
On the other hand, Pat Summit was the GOAT time coach among men and women's coaches. She didn't destroy character, programs, and possibly a university...she built character and settled for nothing less than the highest possible achievement.
Pat Summit is so great every school should build a statue of her and tell their coaches the following, "If you can't do what Pat did...you need to pack your bags and leave."

Wooden and Summitt both were pioneers, and as such, the reality is that they racked up large numbers during periods when their respective sports weren't nearly as popular as they are today.
