21. Texas A&M
22. Missouri
29. Florida
33. Alabama
38. LSU
39. Georgia
44. Kentucky
47. S Carolina
53. Auburn
55. MSST
71. OM

92. Arkansas
109. Tennessee

Pleased to see our passing defense take a great step forward this year. Last year on this date we were 72nd in the country giving up 250 per game in the air.

Brandon Williams really has stepped forward and provided a physical presence on the perimeter. They will be tested though this weekend vs the OM receivers.

Any thoughts on your team's secondary and pass defense? What key games do you see coming they could excel or have issue with?

Slim Williams continues to impress in pass coverage along with the rest of the secondary. The change in attitude has been heartening.

Like you said, though, big test coming up with Ole Miss' tall/talented receiving corps.

I see you guys cracked the top 100 in rush defense as well. Congrats, brother.

Only an idiot would pass against A&M with how many yards per carry they give up

LSU plays the 3rd top passing offense and 6th ranked scoring offense this Saturday against WKU. It will be a good test.

Brandon Williams knocked me THE frick out in 7th grade.

I always thought he'd pan out at DB, but have been surprised at his coverage skills.

Oh... A football related question from texag7.. Who would've thought?

I'm not too surprised with A&M. If their secondary was bad as their running defense, there would be a lot more flaming Chavis threads started by Tiger fans. That kid you claimed was better than the Honey Badger is really good (not better than HB though). LSU's secondary certainly hasn't look like world beaters as of late especially with the fact we have played mostly back-up quarterbacks IMHO

Hey OKtiger...i think you're....NOT OK. I'm sick of you always arguing opposite of the title thread. THIS FORUM IS NOT FOR THAT. YOU AGREE WITH SAID TITLE AND MOVE ON.

It's because of the scheme change. Chavis exclusively used man-to-man coverage which is why we always had those late game breakdowns. Steele uses a whole lot more zone and our guys are still adjusting to it. Chavis has been using man coverage at A&M exclusively and their DBs have played better because of it.

LSU needs to go back to predominantly man IMO.

A lot of our passing D ranking comes from playing BGSU and OU early. That Bowling Green QB is gonna make some NFL team very happy. Although our secondary has had issues all year, he was dropping dimes into his receivers hands like you wouldn't believe and doing it so perfectly that they simply weren't defendable. I've never seen anything like it.

At any rate our defensive stats should get better the second half of the year but I'm very disappointed with our secondary this year. Even with the injuries they've underperformed.

Arkansas is fricking terrible. It is impressive that they are so terrible, have a shitty record, and yet Burt has some of them convinced he is a good coach. Bravo, Burt.
