Part of the difference between Alabama and LSU's success

I live in suburban New Orleans - 80 miles south of Tiger Stadium. I rarely see evidence of LSU fandom in the Southeast Louisiana Community or the countryside - or in the city of Baton Rouge itself. I live in a gated Country Club Community and there isn't a single visible LSU flag, sign or banner - there is one Ole Miss banner on a balcony but that's the only visible sign of college football fandom in a 400 home Southeaster Louisiana community. There is the occassional LSU T-Shirt but few signs of LSU fandom are visible on homes, vehicles, or businesses. Of course there is BIG LEE's LSU home & LSU truck on the corner of Bonnabel and I-10 Service Road in Metairie but aside from BIG LEE'S LSU Memorial there is little visible evidence Southeast Louisiana is LSU country.
The local mainstream media in New Orleans rarely mentions college football during the offseason and NEVER mentions recruiting. Sports radio discusses LSU but there are fewer sports radio stations than Alabama and LSU takes a backseat to the Saints most of the time.
In Birmingham and, all over Alabama for that matter, signs of college football fandom and allegiance are everywhere. 25% to 50% of all homes & vehicles in Alabama have a banner, flag or other visible tribute to their favorite college football team. College football pervades the entire culture of the Alabama citizenry.
There are many visible signs of rival SEC fans across the state of Alabama but the vast majority are ALABAMA fans proudly pronouncing their fandom with flags, banners, vehicle decals, and every conceivable manner of Alabama Tributes on their homes, vehicles, and businesses.
Alabama has more fans than LSU. Those fans are more dedicated, invested, and confident in their team than LSU fans. All you have to do is take a drive thru any Alabama community and look around - it's EVERYWHERE. Not so in Louisiana.

Championships breed bandwagon fans.

A more obsessed fan base demographic= more success?
Funny, back in 2004-2006 when I went to high school in Alabama there were friends I had who showed absolutely 0 interest in college football.
Now, they're full fledged Alabama fans who would have you think they shot out the womb loving Alabama.

Saban is the most important difference. LSU would have 2-3 more championships if he were still there.

Leaving the golf course today I saw a 85k vehicle with 2 $3 stickers for Bama in the windows. I guess your right, Bam's are more serious about their team. The look inspired me I swung by the dump on my way home and bought a junker to put in the yard of my 300k home.

Are you blind? I also live in a suburb of New Orleans and there's LSU signs, stickers, p&g fleur de Lis, etc everywhere. So many men wear LSU hats around here it's crazy. And you don't see news coverage about LSU football? WWL always has something in it almost every night. You must be blind, deaf, and dumb, OP.

we might have won 3 in a row from 2005-2007

North of I-10 you rarely see any visible sign that Baton Rouge is the home of LSU or it's fanbase.

My gosh, forget trying to be or beat BAMA, just concentrate on being or beating Mississippi St.

What could Saban have done with that 2005 season that Miles didn't? That team was destined to win a championship, but there was just too much else going on and ten straight weeks of games before Georgia.
That Miami game showed what that team was capable of.

I don't think I've ever seen an LSU alumni tag or sticker on a vehicle.

That or else he's never ventured outside his parents' neighborhood where the neighborhood association has ordinances prohibiting house/yard swag.
