Folks,

There are only 84 days left until SEC football. I'll say that once more: there are only 84 days left until an SEC football team suits up and hits the gridiron.

For the purposes of having at least one rationally-based thread on the front page of tRant today, let's play over/under. Happy Friday and SEC! SEC! SEC!

TEAM - STATISTIC - BENCHMARK
Alabama - passing yards per game - 230.0 yards per game (2014: 277.9 yards per game)

Arkansas - Brandon Allen total TD passes - 24 touchdown passes (2014: 20 touchdown passes)

Auburn - third down conversions - 57.0% (2014: 52.5%)

Florida - total yards per game - 400.0 yards per game (2014: 367.6 yards per game)

Georgia - total sacks allowed - 15 sacks allowed (2014: 17 sacks allowed)

Kentucky - wins - 6 wins (2014: 5 wins)

LSU - Malachi Dupre and Trey Quinn combined receiving
yards - 1200 receiving yards (2014: 511 receiving yards)

Mississippi State - Dak Prescott total touchdowns - 41 total touchdowns (2014: 41 total touchdowns)

Missouri - Maty Mauk completion percentage - 58.0% (2014: 53.4%)

Ole Miss - rushing yards per game - 180.0 rushing yards per game (2014: 155.5 rushing yards per game)

South Carolina - points allowed per game - 20.0 points per game (2014: 30.4 points per game)

Tennessee - total sacks - 47.0 sacks (2014: 35.0 sacks)

Texas A&M - total yards allowed per game - 375.0 yards per game (2014: 450.8 yards per game)

Vanderbilt - Steven Scheu receiving yards - 650 receiving yards (2014: 525 receiving yards)

Bama over on the passing numbers. They'll have a few games over 300 to offset any low passing yardage games. I'd predict they average around 240

Kentucky under six wins

UGA allows over 15 sacks

Those are the ones I'd bet if I was gonna put real money down.

Can't speak to all of them, but I think Alabama will go over 230 pyds per game. And I think OM will stay under 180 ryds per game.

Also for UT, 47 sacks seems like a ridiculous number, so I'll go under. And Maty Mauk over 58% completion

Way under...Most of the sacks UT gave up last season were early on with immobile Worley at QB.

Kentucky - wins - 6

Under...because Kentucky

Missouri - Maty Mauk completion percentage - 58.0%

Under

quote:

Vanderbilt - Steven Scheu receiving yards - 650 receiving yards

Over...with the mediocre returning QBs...or a True Freshman Shurmer under center, Vandy will rely even more on the TE as a safe pass option.

Georgia - total sacks allowed - 15 sacks

I think over...but only slightly. New OC and RB coach could add some early season confusion for pass protection for an untested QB

Not sacks allowed bro, sacks your defense makes. Y'all had 35 last season and return, arguably, the best defensive line in the conference (as does Alabama and Ole Miss).

For the record, the SEC team leader in sacks each season has hovered around 41.0 - 44.0 sacks.

I applied for admission to the V, B. Board earlier as my days of Volsession are behind me.

I think he's saying UT to have 47 sacks of the opposing qb, not allow 47 sacks. With that said, I don't think either happens.

47.0 is a high number. I should lower it to 43.0 or 44.0 but oh well.

Gotcha...I was confused, since we allowed 43 sacks last season...so that's where I went first.

I think that we will be under on sacks. More than last season, but still less than 47.

Come on aboard.

Y'all are adding more freshman studs along the DL so the depth is only gonna get better.

What's your take on the Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and Texas A&M over/unders? We return all offensive line starters and all RBs, for the record.

I am far too hung over to think about most of these.

Brandon Allen PUSH. Right at 24 sounds about right.

Ole Miss rushing yards UNDER. I think they let the new QB sling it around instead.

Kentucky wins PUSH. I think the Cats claw their way to a bowl game this year.
