Predict the over/under or even for each coaches' number of NCs (just as a HC) when their career is over?

Saban: 6.5 (Currently 5)

Bert: .5 (Currently 0)

McElwain: 1.5 (Currently 0)

Smart: 1.5 (Currently 0)

Butch: .5 (Currently 0)

Muschamp: .5 (Currently 0)

Odom: .5 (Currently 0)

Gus: .5 (Currently 0)

Stoops: .5 (Currently 0)

Les: 1.5 (Currently 1)

Freeze: .5 (Currently 0)

Sumlin: .5 (Currently 0)

Mullins: .5 (Currently 0)

Mason: .5 (Currently 0)

Remember this is about their whole career and not just their current school.

why would you set the bar this high? How many NCAA head coaches are there out there that have 2 national titles to their credit...and you're setting that line for a guy who hasn't even coached a game in his career yet? Yeesh!

This post is very ironic but I believe he does have the highest potential at this point out of the new coaches. It might need to be 1.5 but I stuck with 2.5 if enough people think its too high, I don't have a problem moving it.

he has potential out the yin yang but that doesn't change the fact that an O/U of 2.5 national titles for a guy who has yet to coach his first game is insanely unreasonable. I think 0.5 would be a fine bar to start with. And some of those coaches should be set at 0 because they don't have a chance.

If we're including future jobs, I would say over on Freeze.

Obviously this isn't some type of betting line. You could bet under on all and win a vast majority of them. Want to see who actually believes some of the coaches with 0 have a chance but wanted to included all at the same time.

Bert, Stoops, Mullens, Freeze, Muschamp and Odom shouldn't even be listed.

Of the ones currently at 0, the only ones that I can see potentially winning one someday:

mcelwain
smart
gus

I'm a bit torn on freeze, as I could maaaaaaaaybe see it if all the starts align.

But those 4 above are the only ones I'd say I could actually envision winning.

I mean its very likely that they won't win one in their entire career but I wanted to include all coaches, otherwise you get one guy who asked why you didn't include one.

Do you think it will have to be at another school if Freeze is going to win one?

yes.

Freeze probably has more talent to work with in oxford than any other stop he'll have, but he can't even win his division. That's not necessarily a knock on him and more so a testament to how ridiculously good not only the SEC is but also the sec west.

If he does win one I imagine it'll be a major football program just one in not as rugged of a schedule as the SEC.

gus, smart, and mcelwain and I can all potentially see winning one at their current schools. Adn teh only reason I include gus is because he's actually been there before and was a minute away from it. Looking at current trends he's obviously on teh way down. Mc is on the way up, and we just don't know about smart yet.

It is clear that Freeze loves Ole Miss so its going to take a nice offer to get him to make a move.

Freeze seems to get the team pumped enough to beat bama but they have letdown games that he shouldn't have. He has improved their record every year, which absolutely deserves commendation, but I just dont' think "national title winner" with freeze.

12: 6 losses
13: 5 losses
14: 4 losses
15: 4 TD loss to uf, home loss to arkansas, 2 TD loss to memphis

He has one season at OM with less than 4 losses, and all 3 of the losses could be considered "bad".

It's going to take more than simply beating alabama in the regular season for freeze to make a national statement, IMO.

Honestly, I don't know how you predict who will win a national title outside of Alabama (yea, I know, that sounds homerish, but it is what it is) and maybe Ohio State.

Any of those guys could make a run at 1 title. Who would have predicted Dabo Swinney and Clemson being in the National Title Game in 2015? Auburn and Gus in 2013?
