I can envision the day that Bama plays Auburn last reg season game, and exactly one week later plays them again in Atlanta.

Would both teams agree to play Iron Bowl sometime first half of season? I don't think any rivalry teams anywhere would want to play each other back to back weekends, regardless of results first game. Iron Bowl is very firmly entrenched as last reg season game for both teams.

And Auburn kicks that arse not once, but twice.

They would probably meet again in the CFP considering Alabama has the REC on their side.

I would. I don't like playing west of T-town, minus LSU. Would much rather play the traditional AU schedule.

I just think it would make more sense to move Ole Miss to the East. No one would ever have to worry about meeting them again in Atlanta.

Makes sense to put Auburn in the East and Missouri in the west. Furthermore, the Alabama/Auburn series has become so rancorous that I wouldn't care if they played on a rotating basis.

I believe Mal went on the record last time AU floated the idea saying that if AU wanted to move to the East that was fine by Bama but they would fall on the normal rotation schedule....Tennessee would be the permanent East game and AU would cycle on our schedule like the rest of the East....so something would have to change re: scheduling for the Iron Bowl and the TSIO to remain.

AU seems to value the UGA game more, so that wouldn't be an issue. Moving to the west cost AU the UF, UT, and Ga Tech game. Would rather have those back every year. I am tired of playing Clemson.

I hope not. Auburn is our automatic win in the west

I thought Auburn had dealt with the synthetic marijuana problem, but this post indicates otherwise.

On that note I think if the playoff system was in place in 2013 bama and auburn would have met in New Orleans

Ga Tech game
I think Bill Curry cost us the Tech game, because he couldn't stand being manhandled by Dye's teams while he was head coach there.

As to the OP, I would be fine with moving to the east - especially with the schedule we have now where in odd years we only have one road game east of the Mississippi.

And honestly I would give the IB up as an annual thing, given the current level of hatred between the two fan bases. It may be time for that one to go on hiatus.

It is not going to happen. The East teams do not want them. Any move would require a 3/4 vote.
