Not when you lose 4 more games and your class goes bye bye.

Saban won LSU two titles. Miles lucked into a machine that he has now destroyed.

you're more likely to screw up and get a Franchione-esque program ruiner than you are to hire a 3rd straight coach who can win you a title.

Everyone loves to forget he won the SEC and even had another shot at a Natty with HIS recruits. If Miles can make it to two NC games, then just imagine what a new coach can do! Like I said, y'all are screwed

How many undefeated NC's do you have?

I don't doubt for a second that you can make a big hire.
My question: What happens after you've made your big hire, and you don't win a NC within five years?
Do you fire that guy too?
Just seems like y'all are setting yourselves up for a one hire, one guy, only one outcome situation.
It's not realistic.

I don't blame you for taking the risk (I felt the same way, post-RC Slocum).
But I think the main difference--from my point of view--is that I'd want the search company whom my university hired to cast a much wider search net than just over Houston, TX.
And in all actuality, regardless of what any pro-Herman folks say here, I'm sure that's what will happen.

I wish you luck.
It can be an exciting process!

When we make a bad arse hire recruits will be lining up...LSU recruits itself, esp instate. We might lose a few recruits this class sure, but it will be more than worth it in the end.

Yea but you've won 3, period. Don't act like you've been pumping them out since day 1.....and 03 was not an ap title and 07 was a 2 loss, God granted miracle title. Never, ever was LSU a machine in any title year. At best it was always debatable.
