Other than OK State losing, what else does Alabama need to be in the BCSNC?

I say Virginia Tech needs to beat Clemson in the ACC title game to split votes with Stanford to ensure an All-SEC Championship Game. Any other scenarios out there?

Alabama is in. OSU MIGHT, like a snow-balls chance in hell, have a chance to jump Bama.

I think as long as Va. Tech wins, it doesn't matter whether Ok. st. loses or not

you could make the argument that they need LSU to win. Not sure the implications with the computers with an LSU loss, but coupled with an OSU win could knock Bama's computer numbers down some. Voters would be reluctant to reward Bama for missing the game due to the loss to LSU. I still think OSU needs Clemson to win as well.

OK State is the only team, in my opinion, who could steal some #1 votes from LSU (if LSU loses to Georgia) but they would have to beat Oklahoma by at least 14 for that to happen.

LSU loss really only comes into play if Oklahoma St wins too.

Virginia Tech and Stanford are really way too far behind in the computers to realistically keep Alabama out regardless of what happens.

I thought the winner of the SEC CG got an automatic BCS Bowl. If this is true, wouldn't this eliminate the lowest ranked out of LSU and Bama since only two teams from a conference can make a BCS game?

ETA: All of this predicated upon Georgia winning tomorrow.

There can be 3 SEC teams if LSU and Bama are 1 and 2 but neither win the SEC championship

All Bama needs is a very close game between OK ST/OU or OK ST to simply lose. OSU needs to beat OU by a convincing margin to jump Bama IMO.

VT is irrelevant, nobody cares about the ACC and they wont send VT to the title game even if they avenge their only loss of the season to Clemson.

VT is relevant, by the fact that they are ranked ahead of Ok St in the human polls and will steal votes from them. So it is good for Bama for VT to win

OK State losing is ALL the Tide needs. Also, if OK State wins and LSU wins then the Tide is still in - barely. Unfortunately, based on my number crunching w BCS formulas, etc. if Ok State wins and LSU loses then it's very possible that LSU plays Ok State and Alabama plays elsewhere. Crazy world.

As caveat to all this is if LSU beats a very strong Georgia team that is on a serious ROLL they should play Alabama again for the opportunity to be the BEST college football team EVER in the history of the BCS era. That's what I'm talking about! Geaux Tigers
