Did anyone catch on Bo's show yesterday when Matt Jones came on and seemed flabbergasted by the fact that our idiot coaches don't send skill players to work out with the track program?

Holy hell, that is ridiculous. We have an Olympic athlete factory in Fayetteville and in 5 fricking years nobody has got the bright idea to send their "speed" guys to go train with the strongest branch of our athletic department.

That is plain ineptitude.

Because I want everyone to laugh at him as much as possible at this point. His tenure has been a disaster.

Herschel Walker once said that he felt that the ballet classes he took gave him a leg up on strength, stamina & total body strength

use the assets that you have...

Maybe not, but if I could pick one person in the world to run jet sweeps for my team it'd be him.

He makes plenty of money without having to have people try and knock his head off 20 times a day.

Yeah...

If it were me I would also be sending linebackers and defensive backs over there, but what the hell do I know? I'm just some guy who doesn't make 4 million a year to field a competitive team.

How often are defensive backs and linebackers running straight forward vs side-to-side or backpedaling?

If coaches had unlimited time then it couldn't hurt but practice time is really limited by the NCAA.

Great defensive backs have great hips. They are great at turning while backpedaling. There's really no equivalent for that in track.

I would "suggest" that they spend some time over there voluntarily in the off season. And I do not buy the idea that a corner back couldn't help himself by developing his speed to the fullest of his potential.

Speed is always a good thing to have in ANY athletic endeavor.

Yes I heard that entire segment. When Nutt was here they always had several guys who actually ran track and trained in the off-season with the track guys. I don't care one way or the other as our track program isn't the same as it was under McDonald.

But I know since the days of Nutt we've praised every new S&C coach and then railed on him the next off-season. The only constant is we look slower and less explosive than our competition. Maybe it's something in the water.

Same could be said about our defense.

Everybody knows speed doesn't matter in the SEC! We need to be getting fatter and slower!

The only reason Matt Jones went to the track facility at Arkansas was to get his stash of blow topped off.

Lol.

Matt Jones, for all his faults, was one of the better athletes I've ever seen come through the UofA. I imagine he knows a thing or two about this stuff.

Yeah he said Batman Carroll and Lawrence Richardson used to train with the track team and work on their explosiveness. Could use guys like them and Ken Hamlin on the defense now. Haven't had guys like that in a while.

Even George Wilson was a good enough athlete to play in the NFL at safety for a long time after playing WR here. We don't have those kinds of athletes here now.

I don't think it would make a significant difference in the results on the football field for the team.

The Hogs have not been playing with intensity. Good teams play with intensity on every down.

That is all on the head coach.
