You are a fantastic poster.

Keep this up, you're winning the offseason. It's insane all that freshman talent spread throughout the west.

Leo Lewis might Redshirt. If he makes the 2-Deep I'll be shocked

I really just meant that Teuhema didn't do anything that would make me believe Key doesn't have the chance to beat him out in the fall. It wasn't meant to be a knock against Sione.

The OP mentioned the "one" recruit he was most excited to see next year.

All that was said by us was that we can't wait to see what that "one" recruit and a proven stud at the other end can accomplish together. It is not really all that hard to understand.

Also, name me one team that only plays with 2 people on defense (there are actually 11 on the field).

While Daylon Mack is the obvious choice, I'm more excited to see:

Justin Dunning - 6'4, 215 lbs of hate at safety

It's amazing. People complain about serious, solid posts on here and when they get one they want to tear it apart.

Good job, Dawgsontop.

Auburn made great strides with their signings this past year. Cowart, Lawson and Muschamp should make a huge difference in the "D". This could be another special year for Auburn.

I didn't have a problem with what you said there at all. I brought Lawson up, because his ability is going to largely factor into what Cowart is able to do this year.

Great write-up... I also look forward to seeing Arden Key rushing the passer. However, I think it'll be Kevin Toliver (your honorable mention) that makes the biggest impact among the true freshmen.

LSU is actually pretty short on CB depth... Rashard Robinson suspended indefinitely, Jalen Collins declaring for the NFL Draft, and Dwayne Thomas suspended pending a legal conclusion to the offseason B&E. While having Corey Thompson or Rickey Jefferson sliding over to corner is a possibility, Toliver is a unique talent and, as an EE, has a distinct advantage over our other defensive recruits.... (Arden Key was just cleared to practice with the team not that long ago).

He'll battle Ed Paris for the starting spot opposite Tre White, but otherwise will see a very large role as a reserve corner and/or nickel.

Again, great evaluation.

Great analysis. You've even got me more excited to see how our defense performs next year.

Why do none of y'all think Leo Lewis won't be in the 2 deep as a true freshman?

Serious question because I know nothing of your LB depth. I just know that he was extremely good, and very well could have been on the 2 deep at LSU. Granted we are thin at LB

Key is definitely the player I am most looking forward to watching the next 4 years on defense, but I just don't think he will do anything this year. I don't know what Steele likes, but I know Chavis rarely played guys that weren't physically ready and Key hasn't had a chance to workout with the team at all. I think in 3/4 years he will be a top draft pick though if he can develop pass-rushing skills cause he has all the potential in the world. He is tall, long arms, fast, and extremely athletic. The sky is the limit for that kid, so I really hope he can bulk up some and provide much needed pass rush for us as early as this year.

Double negative aside; He has R. Brown, B. Brown, and G. Green above him right now and there are some other guys under them who already have some playing time as well. He looks like he has the raw talent, but it wouldn't be surprising if he didn't see playing time this year outside of garbage time.
