The pundits are loving this possibility, but it's laughable that we're declaring this based on one BOWL season. Even looking at the regular season, the SEC was one of the most dominant conferences in OOC play.

It's true the media will make too much of this.

However it's also true there is not a huge gap between the SEC and everybody else, particularly last year or this year (and probably next year).

The SEC is a very good conference, still arguably the best overall conference, but it's clear the SEC has fallen off from the days of dominance and the rest of the conferences have teams that can compete.
