Arkansas was the first. Announced about a month or two ago.
Arkansas has basically owned the SEC in club hockey since 2009 as well.

Best of luck to Bama, hockey is a great sport that is fairly popular across the nation right now. We might not develop a lot of hockey talent here in the South, but I imagine if Alabama and Arkansas ever move up to NCAA hockey they would be able to recruit the north for hockey players with some degree of success.

For someone to be considered a trend setter, they would have to be the first and only one to do it. When others join in on that action then they have become the trend setter.
So based on that, nowhere in the article did it make mention of Arkansas being the first to make a decision or "trend" on moving up.
Therefore it lead me to believe that they had decided to move up at the same time.
I'm sorry that I don't keep up with non-varsity athletics enough to know that Arkansas had decided roughly 3-4 weeks beforehand.
