And it has nothing to do with his ability as a coach or recruiter. It's all about the Endz and motherfrickin Dividenz.

You're gonna be at the bottom of the SEC for the 3-4 years REGARDLESS of who the coach is. And that's being generous.

Maybe Saban or Meyer could keep you out of the cellar, but I have a better chance of fricking Kate Beckinsale on a yacht than you have of getting either of them.

Why would you spend the kind of money it would take to get a name coach like Les, when you can take a chance on a young, hungry, up and comer for peanuts?

What do you have to lose? Save your money for 2-3 years, ride out the storm, then park a Brinks truck in a Superstar coach's driveway when the job is much more appealing.

Anyway, jmo.

Save money? You must be cheap....their fans have been shitted on, they need to make the right hire fast and they deserve better than "cheap"

They could probably get Miles for cheap... nobody else is knocking on his door to come hire him.

They won't be able to pay players for a while so why not use the slush fund on a Les Miles?

Oh, I agree. But he's crazy enough to do it.

Luke will be a place holder for at least 2 years; maybe longer depending on the sanctions. Why not?

I agree. Give the interim guy a chance for a season and conduct your search.

Les Miles will be a baby sitter as he is in his sixties and doesn't have time to rebuild this dumpster fire.

I think Mike Leach is a guy that can go into a train wreck and make a winner. Hid did it at Texas Tech and what he has done at Washing State is impressive. With SEC money and resources it would be fun to see what he could do in the SEC

I've always believe in burner coaches for programs in shambles. Get a nice guy in to stop the bleeding then trash him for a championship coach once things have settled down.

I don't like it but it's how I view smart program management.

I wanted Leach at Tennessee, I'd still take him. But the reds won't hear of it.

If I was Ole Miss I would fire that whole damn coaching staff and get Ron Zook on the cheap.

That would accomplish nothing. The young, hungry up and comer would be learning on the job. With Les at least you get someone who knows what the hell he's doing. Let Les come in and lay a solid foundation for the next guy.

He probably would take it..but he has little to no chance of being successful..Maybe that doesn't matter

It depends on why he wants to take it. If he wants to win big, then it would be foolish. If he just wants to coach in the SEC again, then why not take it?

No knowledgeable fan will say it hurt his legacy. Oxford is a nice area, and he gets to come and teach young adults again. Most of the fanbase will support him for awhile just for giving them some relief.
