Did they do something illegal in the name of the law or just in the name of the NCAA? Do boosters have legal obligation directly to the NCAA or just an attempt of control via the NCAAs members?

I'm not one that thinks everyone's business is everyone's business, so legit wondering here.
Well, to the OM folks on here that think that it was all worth it, I am sure they would like to send thank you cards for the great run. For the majority of Ole Miss fans, I would think would like to know who caused their program to face what appears to be really difficult times ahead.

So what you're saying is some Mississippi laws are pointless.

This was predicted and pointed out weeks ago. Dewayne Thomas is a judge and OLE MISS graduate.

It was pointed out weeks ago that Ole Miss had too much power over state media and that it was possible an activist Judge with Ole Miss ties might pull this. It's just unreal. I guess laws mean nothing in Mississippi with Ole Miss connections. And screw the state media for covering up all this crap to begin with.

Well, with something like this, what is wrong with a stay to allow both sides to be heard? Without it, you can't undo it once the name is un-redacted. A few weeks won't matter in the overall scheme of things. I would wait and apply the "activist judge", if he continues the stay once both sides are heard and evidence is clear that the name should be released along with the others.

What possible "evidence" could John Doe present that would justify him not being named?

If I had the kind of money that allowed me to throw it at recruits for the purchase of logo jackets, burgers, drugs, hookers and cab fare I would be happy to let people know that I had that kind of discretionary income.

He needs to see it as the cost of bragging rights.

Maybe Archie thinks his wife will be hurt when she finds he didn't spend the money on curb feelers for her new BMW.

You describe new money chest thumpers.

Archie isn't new money. Their name is on stuff in Oxford and Jackson. He might be on the list but it won't be for burgers and jackets.
