The NCAA has proved they either have no power or are too afraid to impose major sanctions on a program. There is just too much money involved in College Sports now.
We have seen this with the whole North Carolina incident and others. The one problem Ole Miss has though is they are not considered one of the NCAA's "Golden Geese" such as an Ohio State or a North Carolina. Ole Miss's status as a program may make the sanctions a little more harsh but the days of major penalties are over.

I'm beginning to think the NCAA is growing weary of us continuing to slap them in the face, and this won't go over well.

Unless this is the moment that the NCAA wants to prove they are in control. They would never do it to an Ohio St. or Alabama, but Ole Miss may be the perfect team for them to nail.

We will see Saunders gave players over 6K and the school got nothing. Time will tell that is for sure.

that's logical, but I too think it won't be nearly as bad as it should be.

I see a loss of 7 schollys and a bowl ban of 3 years.

Idk, I can't see anything happening other than a few scholarships and a short bowl ban. NCAA has lost its teeth.

Well yeah that would be the kind of harsh punishment I'm talking about. Prior to this I think it was truly just going to be a wrist slap.

Even though I'm a Bama fan, I don't get why some people are making a big deal about Tunsil accepting money. Everyone and there mother knew that something was up when he picked Ole Miss over UGA and Bama, seemingly out of nowhere. But so what? The NCAA is the most fraudulent organization in the the country. Both the University and the NCAA make millions off of players like Tunsil, and nobody bats an eye, but when players have the nerve to accept what is essentially pocket change, it's a huge deal. It's such a joke. Players should be getting paid.

Show me someone who believes that their program's coaches and/or boosters aren't shelling out money to recruits and current players, and I'll show you a liar. It happens everywhere, especially in the SEC. Bama, Auburn, Tennessee, LSU, the list goes on and on.

A lesser than program in the most powerful program in the country?

Seems like the perfect time for them to make an example. Crippling ole miss won't hurt the power in college football much , if any. They may get torpedoed

Oof. My idea of harsh is something close to SMU.

safe to say that won't be it.

Show me someone else who admitted to it at the NFL draft.

If they find out they were lied to during the investigation, they get really pissed. See Jim Tressel and Bruce Pearl.

OM better hope the NCAA already knew about all this before last night.

The day college players get paid I'll weep for the sport. Gold chains, fuzzy hats, and "belly suit" three pieces on all our running backs? smh.

True getting caught in a lie is what really piss off the NCAA. How the NCAA reacts will be interesting.

Nah. It's one thing to have boosters paying players, it's something else entirely when you have coaches or members of the athletic department staff directly involved with paying players and families....allegedly. NCAA can't ignore this.

Probably.

I think Alabama getting hammered over some damned textbooks and supplemental workbooks was the last thing the NCAA ever did or intends to do.

I agree, Mark Emmert is the weakest NCAA Pres ever. If they don't give the death penalty to Ped St, for child rape/coverup or UNCheat for the biggest academic fraud case of all time, they aren't going to do shite to Ole Miss.
