pretty weak Rebels
i mean, if you have to use a gimmicky coupon deal to sell out your opening game; especially if y'all are supposed to be so good...
FWIW - I think the Rebs are the 2nd or 3rd best team in the West this year and COULD make it back to Atlanta

We are playing a team from Idaho on a Thursday night in a neutral location.
There will be a lot of Rebs there. It's not our fault we are playing Boise.

It does seem like a really stupid matchup to be in Atlanta on a Thursday night. A Thursday night game would work in Boise or in Oxford, but not in Atlanta. This game was made for tv, not the fans.

When it was first scheduled, it was gonna be on campus in 2011. Then ESPN wanted it moved to a later year for the Chick Fil A kickoff deal. So they just sorta shoehorned it in to this opening weekend before the Bama/WVU game.
You're right. It was always about TV. Ticket sales were secondary.

It's good exposure whether it sells out or not.. Anybody can see that, but it is nice to see nervous Alabama fans ribbing OM regardless..

I'm not ribbing anyone? It's an awesome deal if someone has the time to make it to Atlanta on a Thursday. Not every thread has to have a sinister motive. I doubt Bama/Boise or LSU/Boise would sell out on a Thursday night in Atlanta either.

I didn't know you were a Alabama fan / avid Ole Miss football promoter. Maybe you should buy them all and resell since it's such an awesome deal.
Weak indirect troll.
Eta: it is an awesome deal. Such a good deal LSU fans will shite on it and mock their inability to sell out. You're crafty.

This is a great deal. It might be the only time in your lifetime that you have the chance to see Ole Miss play in Atlanta.

Pretty sure it was in reference to the fact that they start the season in ATL, not about having been to the championship game there previously.

These are in the Boise State section I think.

When I bought my ticket last week, there were only 14 left in that section, and most other sections were already sold out. We have a pretty large alumni base in Atlanta.
Also, Atlanta is one of the largest airport hubs in the nation. I'm flying in from Raleigh, NC and tickets were cheap as hell. As a fan, I'm actually pretty pleased with it. Labor Day weekend is perfect timing.
