IF Kelly can handle the Bama pressure (win or lose), Ill buy it. The first 2 games were rent a wins where Freeze ran the score up. I'm not saying they aren't for real.....I'm just saying hold off until someone with a pulse lines up against them.

UT-Martin I'd agree with.

However, under Tim DeRuyter, Fresno State has gone 27-15, including 2 Mountain West titles. They're not a "rent-a-win".

LSU - Don't let the win over MS State fool you

It took a dropped open 2 point conversion and a delay of game penalty late that pushed the kicker out of range for you to win. Mistakes on State's part are why you won, not because you are better.

One day, people on here will understand that a coaches past record with a team doesn't have any effect on the current squad. Their record the last two years is completely irrelevant to how good the team is this year. This year, they very well might be a rent a win. Impossible to know after two weeks.

Don't let the opponents fool you.

I'm not sure you watched the same team that I did, but that Offense fired on all cylinders and was smooth af. Their defense did what it was supposed to do to the level of competition. Ole Miss had very little hiccups or mistakes on offense. LSU should worry again about another beatdown, because I don't think ya'll can match them point for point.

Up 17-0, Miles had a Vulcan Mind Meld with Butch Jones, played not to lose. Almost cost LSU the game.

Normally, I'd agree - but they struggled against Abilene Christian and didn't put them away until late, and they had 3 turnovers against them as well. The biggest difference was that Ole Miss capitalized on the turnovers.

Fresno State isn't a good team this year either. That's not a knock on Ole Miss - they did what they were supposed to do against an inferior opponent, but Fresno St just isn't a measuring stick worth bringing up.

Still, this coming game will be a great game. I'm looking forward to it.

We all do it, and we do it every year. It's just human nature. We see a big score, and it's hard not be impressed.

Ole Miss may win. They may win easily. But I'd rather have the experience of playing Wisconsin in the first game and get a more realistic picture of where we need to work. I think the Ole Miss blowout wins are a disadvantage.

Up 21-6 with 2 tds called back amongst other bug gains.

first game on the road in a hostile environment with the opponent having a game under its belt and still showed they were first game jitters away from obliterating State.

But, its all about the 2pt conversion. Guess what? The other things I cite shoupd worry you verses conveniently ignoring them.

Btw, Fresno is hot garbage.

Are you talking about the State game? It was 14-6, LSU went up 21-6, and State answered the next drive to bring it back to a one score game.

Aug. 28, 2014 Boise State W 35-13
Sept. 6, 2014 at Vanderbilt W 41-3
Sept. 13, 2014 Louisiana-Laf. W 56-15
Sept. 27, 2014 Memphis W 24-3

OM had some impressive wins prior to the Bama game last year. Boise & Memphis were really good, and UL-L wasn't bad. All three much better than the teams they've played this year. Bama had a good chance to win that game last year, but didn't come through. Kiffin was going to use Kenyan Drake a lot, but he went down early in the OM game for the season. He's back, and looking very good.

Well when you blatantly hold to open up the gap or keep the QB from getting sacked, you're going to get penalties called on you.

The OP is ridiculous. Ole Miss looks good. But, you saw what you wanted to see. LSU is clearly much better than Miss. St. The game was close because Les Miles doesn't know what he has on offense and is coaching full of fear on the one hand, and stubbornness on the other. Hopefully, he gets it figured out before we get to the meat of our schedule.

Last year LSU beat down SM Houston and New Mexico State just as bad as Ole Miss beat UTM and FS. We all know how that offense turned out...

Let's reevaluate next week at this time.

If I were an OM fan, I'd be worried about freeze's track record as a road team. The last 2 years as a road team, OM is 3-5 with 2 of those wins vs vandy. Last year OM faced 2 run first, defensive minded teams (lsu and arkansas) and lost both by a combined score of 40-7. OM is simply not a good road team

Bama is an extremely good home team. Saban has 3 home losses in the last 7 years.

Both penalties were legit. That said, if we don't commit them both plays still happen. They didn't make the plays in any way, shape, manner or form.

You act as if those penalties weren't warranted.
