All 6 Public schools in B1G Western Division Teams (Northwestern is Private) are listed as OU peers (20 Peers total)

But not a single one of them reciprocated. The only ones that agreed with OU are other Big 12 schools.

As I understand it, getting kicked out of the AAU takes time, it's a process. Their own new conference mates voted them out. Apparently this was quietly in the works before they joined, something to do with how they are structured affecting research dollars. It's been a long time since I paid any attention to them though.

Did anyone bother checking the link? Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn and Texas A&M are all on there, but were conveniently left off.

Enough of this bullshite already! Texas has OU's balls in a vice and they wouldn't have the votes to get into the SEC anyhow. None of the big 6 schools would vote for another powerhouse program to be let in.

They could get in - but not with okie light. That's their anchor right now, to any power conference.

Not sure I agree with that.

The B1G shot their wad with Notre Dame ... then they settled. (See Maryland, Rutgers)

They're done for awhile ... at least as long as the SEC is done and the SEC will not offer Oklahoma, regardless of their Okie State anchor.

If the A&M/longwhornes deal proved anything, it is that no school is anchored when it comes time the next time around. But we'll be looking in the states of NC and VA, not out west.

OU will never be in the SEC. Neither wants the other. SEC expansion, it it ever happens, will be to the East. There's nothing to be gained by going west. The Big X has already learned that.

Well the Big Ten really has nowhere to go West, other than maybe Kansas. If you take away Rutgers and Maryland, who from the West would've been added? Kansas would be 1, but #2? Iowa State? No one meets the criteria.

If the Big Ten were to expand again, I have a feeling UConn and Kansas would be it. Syracuse and Boston College would make more sense, but it'd be tough to get them from the ACC

OU's list of academic peers was responded to only by the other B12 schools and the University of Phoenix.

That's actually a pretty cool site. UF and Texas A&M are peers according to it.

The fact they feel comparable to IU, Michigan, and Wisconsin is comedy. Their reputation does not succeed them whatsoever... and I'd compare them to the likes of West Virginia, Ole Miss, and LSU.

No offense to my SEC brethren.

LSWho is pretty darn good in some disciplines. I was looking at going to grad school there. The LSU Press is second to nobody.

OP, if you want to post B12 stuff then please quit posting here.

The SEC Leadership is not dumb. This is what is going to happen:

The SEC will keep ringing the cash register with larger and larger payouts. We had record payout this year even with SECN startup costs.

When the cash payout gets large enough we will have a school in NC and a school In VA that want to join. Just need to be patient and let things marinate for a year or two.
