OK, I can't hate Notre Dame anymore after seeing this

Their fans may be dicks, the media may lick their balls, but the administration is a 100% class act, at least these days.
This guy works at a paper in northwest Georgia and apparently couldn't make the trip to ND due to a death in the family. He got this in the mail this week.
Presumably Leigh Torbin with the Notre Dame Athletics Media Relations department.
Pretty cool

Sorry to hear that you couldn't make the game here due to a death in the family. Ken mentioned he'd light a candle at The Grotto for your loss, so hopefully that helped. Since it's an awful reason to miss a once-in-a-lifetime trip for UGA (especially after winning), rather than toss it, I figured I'd send along your unused credential as a keepsake/momento. -Leigh

You can still hate them and just like Leigh if you want. It's your call.

Now that's class! Good job, Notre Dame!

That is pretty cool, but Leigh's penmanship is horrific!

Oh, that's a given!

The media fluffs ND and causes much hate, that is certain. But their fans, at least the ones who actually go to the game, were the best I've encountered. ND admin was also fantastic. Couldn't have been better hosts. Your post surprises me 0% based on my experience.

That's more than they did for Lizzy Seeberg.

Don't be a dickhead just because you won one little rinky dink game.

They're clearly patronizing the illiterate georgia folks by talking on their level with that first grader letter.

I think we can rule Leigh out as a potential author of the Sumlin letter.

That's a very nice gesture.
But frick Notre Dame and everything those Irish cheese dicks stand for.

Says the crakalacka fan. I had to drive two hours in bumper to bumper traffic through a crack town to get to your stadium. Just to have a grandma next to me yell "GO COCKS!" in my face! Really - she was like 70 and 10 teeth ...
(yes - I have seen our fan base, we do have a few of those!)

Good on them. Shite, I don't know about y'all but I rooting for them to win out.

They didn't do much more for Declan Sullivan's family.
Unless you count cover-up as doing something

We stopped in South Bend on our x-country trip this summer to see the stadium and campus. Very worthwhile stop.

Good job getting through Atlanta. I hope the rest of the drive into SC was nice.
