Ohioans are buying up more tickets to the Sugar Bowl than fans in Alabama, according to an analysis by SeatGeek, a search engine for secondary-market tickets to live events.

Since Sunday's announcement that Ohio State would meet top-ranked Alabama in the national semifinal game on Jan.1, fans in the Buckeye State have scooped up 21 percent of tickets purchased on SeatGeek, compared to 18 percent bought in Alabama.

Uggh. C'mon Bama fans, we need to pick it up.

SIAP....

Tons of us bought tickets the week before or after the SECCG before OSU won because we knew we'd be in New Orleans and wanted to beat the other team to the punch (thought it would be FSU).

Also I live in Georgia.

OSU has the most obnoxious fan base in college sports, bar none. If I were a Bama fan I'd almost be tempted to watch on TV rather than deal with the Buckeye horde that will descend on NOLA.

This doesn't surprise me. Ohio state brought a shite ton of fans to the 2007 title game.

Yea OSU has a rabid fanbase and they haven't been in a game of this magnitude since 2007, so they will be there in number

tOSU is lucky that 2014 Bama team is not championship caliber, sort of like 2013 Bama team that went 11-1 before meeting Chokelahoma.

I see a repeat of last year's Sugar Bowl.

Gump fans have probably decided to save what money they have and just buy National Championship tickets. Why waste money on a game they know they will already win!!!

thats the thing about this new format. You have to spend a fortune on tickets and travel for the semi final, then if you win turn around and do it all again. A lot of people probably can't afford to do that two weeks in a row so they have to decide if they want to go to the semi or roll the dice and shoot for the finals.

We'll have more, just give 'em time.

Actually no, probably will end up being 50-50. Anyone see them last year vs Michigan and Cal? Their fans are pretty passionate and travel really well. Not to mention their large alumni base. We'll have around the same amount of fans, but don't expect it to be like the Capital One Bowl, SEC Championship, or like the match-ups in Atlanta.

If I had to spend a year watching B1G football, I'd be excited to see Alabama play too....

Yep. It'll be pretty close to 50-50 when the game starts.
