Isn't there a way to detect chemicals in a tree?

I would think they would have tested the soil like they've done to make sure the new trees could be planted.

They probably wouldn't have tested the trees until they showed signs something was wrong and they were dying and then it would be too late. Hell they tested a month? after he put the stuff on and it was already too late.
I'm glad he came out and said it. That way both fan bases know what a piece of shite he is.

I saw Harvey today leaving a job interview and said roll damn tide. It was in Albany, Louisiana. He looked rough with his huge mustache and his all Alabama attire. If he is in jail then that must have been his twin

If there wasn't goobers around taking selfies with him then probably a DG

I am not suppose to say this, but...
Toomer's Corner was an inside job. The trees were already dying and Auburn needed a scapegoat, preferably a huge bama fan. Thanks Harvey! We would look like assholes if we killed our own trees.

Maybe he's too dumb to know it's illegal. Btw I second the previous poster's sentiment frick Harvey Updyke.

I doubt Finebaum would currently be at the SECN. Updyke made Finebaum by simply picking up that phone.

Well, the trees weren't the picture of health before Harvey did his horrible crime. They had been subjected tons of high pressured water for toilet paper removal over the years and, like any other tree, had a life cycle that was going to end at some point.
That said, once they died and the poison had been found, it would have been chaos. AU would have (rightly, in this case) blamed some crazed Bama fan. Without a specific person with which to focus their anger they would have directed it at all Bama fans. It would have been ugly for the state.
Harvey coming forward the way he did - and Bama fans almost universally blasting him for what he did - actually made this situation a little easier to deal with than it might have been otherwise.

People from Alabama seem to be the only humans on the planet who don't realize how stupid they look to the rest of the universe.

You mean the place that reared both a recent President and your football program's lord and savior?

What would the opinion, speculation, thought be today of the oaks at Toomer's Corner by Auburn fans? Obviously they would've died. Would Auburn fans have suspected foul play without his dumbass phone call?
Auburn would have suspected Alabama's involvement. They have enough experience with those crazies to assume they are behind stuff like that. #updykenation

Yeah, y'all really made Ol' Harvey a big-time outcast. Just look at how he is ostracized by all these true Bama fans:

Obviously, TigerNMiami and auburnphan would have blamed Nick Saban and started a class action lawsuit. With the case being determined by a judge in Alabama who is too busy fighting to keep the 10 Commandments at the courthouse, Saban would have decided not to fight it and settled with TnM and phannie with an agreement to coach Texas.
And Charlie Strong would have come to Alabama and won a national championship in his first year.
