A few things really stand out. Like, who the frick is Hardin-Simmons?

Also, the cream rises to the top!

EVERY SEC "Big 6" team made the cut:

Bama - on the list SIX times, 4 times at No. 1
Tenn - on the list 5 times
UGA - on the list 5 times
LSU - on the list 3 times
Auburn - on the list 2 times
Florida - on the list 2 times

Rest of the SEC:

Vandy - on the list 3 times!!!
Ole Miss - on the list 2 times
Arkansas - on the list 2 times

Honorable Mention:

GA Tech - on the list 3 times, twice as an SEC member
Sewanee - on the list 1 time!

And lastly, we have FIVE teams that have laid GOOSE Eggs..

Texas A & M
MS State
Kentucky
South Carolina
Mizzou

Aggie? WTF? Not once, ever? Oh well, you'll always have memories of beating Bama with Johnny Football...

Lastly, as a UGA guy, seeing Vandy on there more than Aubie and the Gators

it's not about being "better" than the prior decade

it's about winning % relative to what everyone else did

Yea I got that, I sometimes understand math even with a Louisiana education. I guess the field isn't as good this decade compared to last

Their football "program" is complete shite and everyone knows it but them. They always have been and probably always will be. It's a shame because the rest of their athletic programs are quality.

there's no way we don't make the 40s over wtf hardin simmons is.

We have 1 legit national title and 1 other less legit one, won 3 SEC titles that decade, and had over 80 wins. Idk what their criteria was but the 40s were one of our better decades and we surely were one of the top 10.

funny you should say that, as I had the same thought, we won a Natty in 1942 and have a damned strong case for 1946

was very surprised we weren't on the list that decade
