Had no idea LSU had the eye of the tiger this far into the 90s. I thought it was around in the late 80s and then scrapped until Saban brought it back in the 2000s

I was there.

That was the game after the infamous Interception Game against Auburn. Curley Hallman assured LSU fans that the Tigers were, "...gonna keep that leather thing on the ground." LSU was 7-16 for 53 yards with two interceptions.

I did not attend another game at Tiger Stadium while Curley was coach at LSU.

This looks like it was broadcast 100 years ago with the film quality and screen graphics. Can't believe that's where we were technologically when I was 15.

Dinardo scrapped it. He wanted a return to Old School LSU football.

The last time we beat LSU...

Maybe we'll finally beat them again the next time they come to Williams-Brice... in 2027.

WTF is VideoSeat?

I'm sure I was at that game but I remember nothing about it.

Curley Hallman's last season. My junior year at LSU. We consumed a shitton of Jack Daniels and Jim Beam that year. One of my friends called in to a radio show after the Southern Miss loss and went on a 10 minute rant where he offered to put $1000 in a barrel outside the stadium as seed money to buy out Curley, Joe Dean, etc. Back when talk radio was the only way you could meltdown for a mass audience.

Things have changed a lot in 20 years. Well, I'm pretty sure LSU fans still drink a shitton but for different reasons.

Man -- people bitch about LSU QBs these days but listen to this stat line:

Jamie Howard
7-16 for 53 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT, 2 fumbles

And the game before that he threw 3 pick sixes against Auburn.

That's got to be a record number of turnovers in back to back games by a LSU quarterback.

No wonder I don't remember the Carolina game that year. I sure as hell remember the Auburn game.

This is true, but also, he wanted a recognizable logo at midfield for televised games...the eye then isn't what it is now.

I was glad when the eye came back.

I was a student then. Howard had to walk around campus with security due to all the death threats...that's no shite.

God, those were some black days...

No lie -- it looks great.

I also liked the end zones that year. I want to say we did that in '93 as part of the centennial celebration of LSU football.

The band sounds great as always.

I remember when Richard Condon got into it with Jamie Howard live on air.

...and 3 interceptions that weren't returned for a total of SIX interceptions in one game.

I've got to think 10 turnovers (8 INTs, 2 fumbles) in 2 games is a record for a LSU quarterback.

It's quite the low bar of suckitude that I have to hope is never again equaled or worse yet surpassed.

That was my sophomore year in TGBFTL. I vividly remember that it was raining so hard we couldn't see past midfield when we marched pre game. Several people bit it on the TTR.

I marched snare and the rims on those old drums (that was the last year we used them), were particularly high. When we played at the end of the alma mater and the SSB, all that collected water ended up in our faces, which just made us play louder and harder to splash more.

That's all I got. The rest of the game was spent sitting in a rain coat in pouring rain watching LSU lose another heartbreaker. After that and the AU game (which I also had the misfortune of attending, as the full band went), I knew we were headed down a bad road.
