First, there was huge number of future NFL millionaires on the field that day. Matthew Stafford, Knowshon Moreno, A.J. Green, Mark Ingram, Julio Jones, Andre Smith, Mt. Cody and the list goes on.

As the old saying goes, the game was won in the trenches. Alabama's O line opened up huge holes for the one-two punch of Glenn Coffee and Mark Ingram, and John Parker Wilson was given plenty of time to find Marquis Maze and Julio. (who went off)

On the defensive side, Stafford was harassed from the start and his primary receiver, Green, was bottled up in the first half by double coverage.

The game was 31-0 at half and was essentially over at that point. Georgia was shell shocked and made plenty of mistakes early on that helped Bama jump out in front.

This year's game could follow the same path. Alabama's strength is it's defensive front. The O line is still a question mark but the potential is there. Malcolm Mitchell is Lambert's main target and will get our db's close attention. If we get a serviceable performance out of Coker, and the running game gets going. (GA has yet to face a potent running game this season) this game could play in Bama's favor just like 2008.

no. That 2008 Bama team would wipe the fricking field with this Bama team.

We have a proven tight end in Jeb Blazevich. Terry Godwin is a raw talent that could chip in. Sony Michel often splits out wide or receives out of the backfield. And we have a host of Patriotesque WR who can play for possession.

I'd be more worried than y'all are about us. Schotty has barely even scratched the surface of his playbook this year and will be throwing wrinkles left and right at your defense knowing how inexperienced your secondary is.

THIS. That team had Julio, Ingram, Dareus, and a host of other superstars. Freaking loaded.

Your O-line isn't as good as that one in 2008 and you don't have Maze and Julio anymore

There was a lot more going on than that. Missed assignments, turnovers, etc.

Well...yeah.

So because we have a standout receiver and haven't played a "serviceable" running game it could end in a blow out?

Anything can happen in any game. The year has nothing to do with it. These are two completely different teams that have far more differences than similarities to the 2008 squads from these two schools.

Sure, and Jacob Coker could win the Heisman.

But back in reality you frickers are fricked. Georgia is going in dry on you redneck pussies.

I'll make one observation. Saban was hungry, made adjustments and actually gave a shite back then. Now he's a soft lazy old man who's content losing two or three games every year. Also, the offensive line was dominant and could run the ball at will no matter how many defenders were in the box. I'll give Jim McElwain credit for one thing and one thing only. He was patient sticking with the running game because he knew it would eventually wear down opponents late in games. A certain Alabama offensive coordinator needs to take notes about that.

So a questionable OL vs an established OL for Bama - not even close to the same

Bama's DBs the last couple of years have been nowhere near as good in coverage as those Bama teams

This is quintessential bama talk. No matter what UGA does, if Bama does what they want they will win

You missed my point. My point is that in a game where 2 teams are somewhat close, both teams are trying to implement their will. Bama fans, and Ohio State fans and really a lot of fans, think that it is never the other team played better it's their team screwed up

I think this applies equally to both teams. Whoever runs the ball better in this game will win. I think both teams are confident that they can move it on the ground.

So, a team made up of 100% Saban recruits, including players from 4 consecutive #1 classes (2011-14) and one #2 class (2015), is LESS loaded than a team made up of only two Saban-recruited classes, including a handful of true FR from a single #1 class (2008) and a few redshirts/true SOPH from the #10 class (2007), and the rest Shula signees?

He just suffered his 9th loss in his last 88 regular season games. That senile old fricker has really lost his edge.

Yeah... I was saying exactly what you were saying about our rematch with Boise fricking State... And yes... that Boise State team of 2011-2012 would beat this Alabama team by 2 TD's...

I wish we had a Javier Arenas returning kicks and punts. That is an area that we have not been too productive in this year. I just don't see that explosiveness from anyone they've tried. Georgia has a darn good punt returner. J.K. Scott needs to go back to being last year's J.K. Scott.

Story of that year....

UGA lost 3 starting offensive lineman. You can't win if you can't win the line of scrimmage.

Care to break down 2002, 2003 and 2007? Like 2008, those games have zero players who played that will suit up Saturday.

Bama's ugly secret: they are 2-3 vs. Mark Richt.
