…that exists now as a result of the decision to keep Coach Miles. I will start off by saying I was for keeping Les Miles. I am of the opinion that his is stubborn and needs to change his offense but I think he is a great coach.

The administration has effectively neutered Coach Miles with this debacle that has unfolded over the last week to ten days. LSU spread their business all over the news by whatever breakdown or leak that happened. In the eyes of everyone in the nation outside of the LSU family and probably a lot of LSU fans also, Les Miles has one year to get it right or he is gone. I think most on here would agree with that and that puts him basically in an impossible situation with respect to recruiting and coaching for this LSU team.

The way I see it now that this unfortunate set of circumstances has unfolded nationally LSU only has one choice and that is the fire the AD, Alleva. Miles contract is through 2019 from what I have read on here (not sure if that is accurate) and that is a reasonable amount of time left on a contract without the need to renegotiate. LSU must now give the appearance that they are all in behind their coach and show unity with Les Miles to avoid disaster.

I say Alleva has to become the fall guy at this point for the University to save face publicly over this debacle.

Just my opinion.

It was an utter donkey frick from start to finish and a pure disgrace to the LSU brand.

I hope so. I've wanted Alleva gone more than I did Miles.

I am a Miles supporter hoping for a serious deviation in offensive philosophy. I'm glad he's our coach still. That being said, this is the worst possible outcome. Once a leak gets out like that you have to pull the trigger. How the hell is he supposed to go out and recruit now?

I honestly think the LSU handlers need to withhold Mikes food for about a week. Then toss Alleva in the cage and let that hungry beast take care of bidness!

Disagree…I think Rosco needs to go with Alleva. He hasn't shown up in the stadium for one game this year and I think he is part of the problem. LSU is suppose to have the tiger in the cage in the tunnel to growl at the other team and on the sidelines in his cage. He is a disappointment and also needs to be fired.

For the record, I thought it was time for Miles to go.

I thought they should have just fired him ala Georgia, rather than try to negotiate another coach first. That was bush league...and budgetary driven. If they didn't have the money to fire him, don't even make the gesture.

I don't think Miles will last more than one more year in any case. But there are options ... when Alabama wanted Curry out, they put conditions on him that were so onerous that he resigned.

One of those was that he no longer had control of who his assistant coaches were... who they were going to be was going to be dictated to him. Certain budgetary and expenditure control was going to be taken from him too.

Les can't recruit with any confidence now, and frankly neither can ANY of his offensive staff. Y'all have your collective arse in a sling on the recruiting trail because of the way the Administration handled this fiasco.

The man was carried off the fricking field to the wild chant of "We Want Les". The TV scanned all of the loving signs from the fanbase. The whole Miles family was put front and center on camera thinking this was their last hoorah only to be told immediately after singing the alma matre that he'd be retained? WTF?

BamaScoop, that is a good analysis. The HIGH majority of LSU fans are good people and understand Coach Miles has earned the right to continue coaching for LSU and improve his team. The HUGE mistake by Alleva was not handling this in private. It reminded me of when Auburn tried to hire Bobby Petrino years ago. It's amazing how stupid high level executives from our some of our most respected educational institutions can be.

Wast the AD fired after the Bobby Petrine fiasco at Auburn. I can't remember.

That is certainly an option. But under the current contract Miles is under, I can't see him leaving what will be +$12 million on the table.

BTW, I had no idea Curry's wings were clipped so severely back then. Thanks for the info.

Duke rape fake scandal. That's really all you need to know about Alleva

Jetgate was actually carried out by a big time booster that also served on the board of trustees, bobby Lowder. Lowder owned Colonial bank and he and the AD did the behind everyone's back. He was later erased from the university because the bank he owned was taken under control by the federal government for corrupt practices and the AD was also removed.

BamaScoop you make sense. LSU made a mess out of this, but firing Alleva would at least help things a bit.

Louisiana politics fricked this whole thing up.

Our President killed this entire thing.

That is why the president needs to come out and take control of this now and remove Alleva in my opinion. They need to make it look as if they are 100% in support of Miles no matter what their intentions are next year.

First off, none of your opinion is "objective".

Secondly, it is not the job of the LSU AD to respond to every pissy LSU fan after a loss to Alabama.

Third, LSU has other choices besides firing the AD, namely:
Fire the OC, fire the DC, fire Peveto, fire the OC and Peveto, fire the DC and Peveto, fire the OC, DC and Peveto.

The fact of the matter is that LSU just has to win. If Les beats Bama next season, OR goes to the SECCG, his job is safe. And he has the opportunity to do that with a legit Heisman contender. No matter what, losing to Arkansas and Mississippi would not help his situation.

That all said, it probably would be in LSU's interests to replace Alleva.

But bear in mind, if Miles loses to Alabama, Mississippi and Arkansas again next season, he will be bought out. Alleva really has nothing to do with whether or not Miles stays, he could impact the next HC hire - which I believe he should not. If it comes to buying Miles out after next year, Alleva should go as well.

I agree with the former, but not the latter. We're talking about LSU here, not some Ivy League institution. Piss balloons, batteries, corn dogs, etc. ad infinitum.
