These are the total defense rankings of teams that Alabama and their true freshman QB have faced so far this year.
The highest ranked defense they've faced so far this year has been Kent St.
Tennessee is ranked #66 in the country in total defense.
Is there a correlation between these numbers and the success that Alabama is having right now?
Is Alabama fool's gold?
I absolutely respect the BAMA defense.
(Before anyone even says anything because we all know BAMA fans hates criticism and they immediately try to start pointing fingers elsewhere, I said nothing about LSU. Can the topic be Alabama and its competition so far this year?)

Nope.

Bama is Bama. They will be a very formidable opponent as long as Saban is there. However, they can be beaten.

Can you recalculate those rankings by taking Bama's #1 ranked offense in the SEC and their stats in those respective games out of the equation? Thanks.

No, because bama doesn't have the #1 offense.

Almost like they should be averaging about 45 a game.

You make a good and fair point. But, I think it's Alabama then everyone else in the country fighting for second place. I haven't seen any other team in the country play as well as Alabama and with the same consistency.

IMO, Ohio St is the best team in the country.

I think yaw yaw and the baws have a nice shot at beating alabama, but can we please not pretend like alabama is overrated ever again?

The Tide don't lose in Baton Rouge

You can ask the same exact question about Texas A&M as well.

In the conference, maybe, but not the country, Washington,tOSU, and Michigan are doing better in both offensive and defensive scoring. Not sure who they played, but they seem like teams that might be better than Bama.

We haven't played well offensively. Arkie was our best game but still had penalty issues and still some missed assignments up front on offense. THE key to Bamas title chances hinged on the o line coming together. We're getting better, which is the good news but can we improve enough to beat an Ohio state? If we played Saturday, no. By January? We'll see.

I guess, if you like a team that is good at putting up points and is good at not giving them up.
Yeah, they are good as usual, but have they played anybody yet? I haven't even caught them on tv.

We may not be the best team this year. But we're still better than you.....again.

A team needs to find a way to put a lot of pressure on the young qb, I think he'll fold if they do.
