a good guy who never embarrassed the program but just could not get the team to the next level. For this to happen quickly tells me Battle has a short list.

Classy guy, as all of the coaches in the SEC seem to be.
I wonder if he just realized that the SEC is too tough, and someone with his skills could be a lot more successful somewhere else, like the Big 12, whose champ is gifted a national seed despite the whole league being a joke.

Alan Dunn is an assistant simply because LSU is willing to pay more for an assistant than most schools will pay for a head coach. Alabama has the funds to get him, and he would be a slam dunk hire for their program IMO.

Give it to Patrick Murphy, he's can coach even though he hasn't coached baseball much. Turn softball over to Habitz, she's ready. A little tongue in cheek there, oh well.
