Solid hire. It's just money. A&M is like Auburn......they just need a competent D to be very good. Chavis will build more than a competent D for them. It may not be in year one, but he will get them there.

1. A&M needs defense in the worst way.
2. At a minimum, it costs LSU time and effort to try to replace Chavis.
3. It allows Sumlin to entrust 1/2 his team to an expert and focus on recruiting and other areas of improvement.
I give it a 12 out of 10.
