No matter how you spin it this is not good for college football and esp the sec. This is the world we live in i guess that one team just refuses to play a football game because they are scared of the other team. As for as i know this is unprecedented. This is the most cowardly act i have ever seen of a so called football team.

I'm sure the Gators are scared. The team captains probably had a vote and decided to bring a hurricane close and endanger all of their families instead of playing a game. Players have that kind of decision making ability...

They could have done what LSU and other teams done and moved the venue , they had all week to prepare. They wanted no piece of LSU. Pure chickenshit. The laughing stock of the entire country.

Definitely not unprecedented.

ok UF didn't want to move the game out of Gainesville but ask yourselves why Sunday or Monday was taken off the table. Could have waited as late as Saturday to assess any storm impact, which it appears will be minimal, really no excuse.

This notion of Florida being "scared" is so laughable. The shite didn't work out. It sucks, but I'm pretty sure UF wasn't sitting around going, "man we really don't want to play LSU. We're scared, let's duck them." They did what they thought was best, unfortunately it looks to be the wrong decision.

so which is worse
being scared or being completely incompetent?

Hurricane preparation a priority over a football game? How dare they.

Then why did they posture all week and panic with a decision on Thursday? Any twit with half a brain would have come up with alternate plans in this scenario. To completely postpone / cancel without backup is inexcusable as a 2015 Les Miles offensive scheme against Bama.
All of the other Florida schools, and USC UGA stayed ahead of the storm and made it work.

When the AD stated that line "it's not that we didn't want to play LSU" - he should've just stayed on topic about the weather

I've been enjoying watching the LSU melt all week.
Hey, Bama doesn't play until 7 tomorrow night. We could play you guys this afternoon and fly out tomorrow or meet us in Fayetteville and we'll play a double header. In?

But not until Thursday at 4 o'clock. With the same general hurricane track known since Monday, they were hell bent on playing it in Gainesville noon on Saturday, less than a day after the hurricane was projected to pass through.
I love watching these narratives fall apart under scrutiny.
