Um, no offense, but no.
I get that people are trolling the heck outta y'all in this thread, and you're hitting back.
But that comment is silly and ignorant.

Lets pump the brakes on Mullen for now. I like him and think he is solid but just because he smashed a shitty lsu team doesn't mean he's a world beater. If he finishes 10-2 or better then yeah he needs to upgrade and go to a better program. Vols, Aggies, or Gators could be in play. Those are clear huge upgrades. Arkansas would be a smaller upgrade as well.

I've always liked him. Won't be my school going after him we're stuck with Fatbert for another year I fear.

If he chooses to leave State any time soon, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him end up in Knoxville.

While the hire doesn't do much for me, I'm pretty convinced we'll be hiring Aggie native son, Chad Morris.

Sidenote ... MSU fans, you never know; if your current guy bounces, maybe you end up with a coach who takes you farther than Mullen has?

It's true but for some reason I could see Mullen turning down Florida, A&M or Tennessee to stay at MSU.

The expectations (some unrealistic) and pressure are much different than at MSU. I think the quality of life at MSU would be better.

It's going to be funny to see at the end of the season, whether or not this world-beater bullshite is actually true. I've seen the exact same claims in years past, and they have never -- and I mean ever -- panned out.

Many a slip between a cup and a lip. Might hold off before focusing on nattys and conference championships, until you get further into the season. Eddie O shits the bed again, and suddenly it's a neck and neck race between you and Bama.

Maybe it will, but if history is any indication, I'd slow your roll.

It was your coach that I wanted to see in Fayetteville when we hired Fatbert.

I agree with this.

He seems to like where he is and over time a coach like that becomes invested in the school and the school/fans become invested in him. In some ways it becomes difficult to uproot and move on absent some compelling reason to do so.

It really becomes more about the quality of life which takes into account family and a lot of other things. It's not about the most money, some "destination" job where everybody notices you and thinks you are cool and gives you a better chance of winning a title. Getting into a pressure cooker often comes with such gigs, and that's not for everybody.

If a person, in the coaching profession or otherwise, is able to live comfortably and be happy with where they are along with their family, then that often is what is most important in life, recognizing that people are different. Some very successful coaches have made a good living at smaller places and have retired after coaching many seasons at such places. It's not always about moving on to what some perceive as "bigger and better" things.

I still have my doubts about Mullen. He's like 7-28 vs the top 25.

If you're calling A&M bigger and better program, then idk what to tell you. They don't win more. The people there suck buttholes. And they'd want him fired every 5 minutes. He makes 4.5 mil. I'm sure they could pay more. But he's gauranteed 4.5 mil or more at State for as long as he wants it. 20 years of that amount is better than four or five in that shithole. And it's not like he has any better chance at winning championships there. That's a fact. If one day Bama offered or Georgia or Florida then I can see it.

Agree. Quality of life in Starkvegas is great.
Mullen may leave at some point but for now he has a great gig going, wife likes the town, kids are little and have a stable upbringing.
I think he may possibly be like Frank Beamer and be here for the long term.

Yes, it's true. It is not needed when you never plan on leaving.
