Seriously State fans...this year is far different than the last 9 years. Many sharks are in the water this year. The best you can do is hope your SEC brethren end their seasons on a high note and don't steal your coach.
Seriously, if you knew anything about Mullen you would know he would not go to any other SEC team except maybe Bama and that ain't happening.
He is from New Hampshire, so his dream job would be something in the Big 10. He might just maybe consider the west coast. He would also consider Texas or Oklahoma I think.
At this point, I worry more about him being offered a high paying OC gig in the NFL than going to another SEC school.
Money is big but this guy wants something more and he is in a comfortable spot. $5 mill a year in Mississippi is A LOT of money. If you knew anything about him you would know that.
ETA: aTm needs a hot young coach to fire things up, not poach from another team. Look where that has gotten you.

A&M has never backed up the dumptruck full of money. That is the difference this year.
You cowboys got so much money?
Offer Saban 100 million for him and his staff. Have a national Championship year next year if it is that easy.
Dan tells me he doesn't want to go to that place. I asked and he said, "I have my children to worry about. It is a place of sodomites - No thanks."
I had no idea your reputation was so bad.
Not that I find any fault with you guys. I understand lifestyle choice is a constitutionally protected right.

When has Mullen won a division title or conference title?

My biggest concern regarding Mullen isn't his football iq, it's his ability to adapt to living in a functioning society if he were to leave Mississippi for the great state of Texas. I think he could handle it though.

Tell me oh wise one. How many good coaches has A&M kept?

Replying only because I'd see your U.K. Not because of anything Ingram said.
If coaches only looked at geography they would not choose:
College Station (middle of nowhere Texas)
Tuscaloosa (Crap tons less quaint than Starkville)
Gainesville (swampy and just Florida)
Most college towns are quaint and people love them for their own reasons. Those of us that attended MSU actually like Starkville. It is very nice compared to 25 yars ago when I went there. You guys have a voice of over confidence and arrogance about how great each of you is.
5M is 5M plain and simple. That's a ton for an MSU coach. He is very liked, has a huge ego, some of which could be a big screw you to all the big names. You guys think your always the best and it is getting funny. Contracts and TV changed a lot for everyone.
Some people like small towns others not so much. Get over your selves.
For me. If it was for a good school for SEC and a nice place and good base. I could see him at Georgia, If geography etc... were the key he could be in Lexington as well. No one wants the crap and weird fan base of aTm. Florida and TN hanging on to the glory years.
Florida sucked for their entire existence before Spurrier and Myer. MSU has Powned you regardless.
If I were Mullen which I am not and none of your frickers are either, I would look at Georgia, Norte Dame, Penn State, USC, Stanford, Nebraska, Texas. etc... but each of those come along with some booster baggage and control. Mullens gonna Mullens and calls his own shots and builds His program His way. He has proven he can build and winning cures a lot to make things better. MSU is not at its ceiling by a long shot. Again winning and money (more into an already invested program) make a difference. This ain't your mothers MSU so get used to it.
TN fan base is goofy, Florida wears jorts and are weird. At least MSU is sane. Arkansas hasn't been anything in years. aTm was the laughing stock of the big 12. My how You have forgotten. And you haven't been crap other than Johnny Football in the SEC and cant keep a decent QB so there.

So the rumors of him having interest in other jobs is all a lie ? He would take an elite job in a heartbeat if it was offered to him .

I have always liked him.
Take this as a compliment. Nobody wants half the SEC head coaches.
If he were to leave he'd have to take his foot off Ole Miss's throat. I think he likes his boot on their neck.
He's a good coach. Team looks strong. Enjoy the season.
