Ed Orgeron becomes the interim head coach, promptly takes LSU to a 10-2 season, an SEC title, and a major bowl win. The powers that be then give him the full-time head coaching job as a result.

Yes this has gotten several programs in trouble over the years.
An interim coach nobody really wants long term has a really good finish and gets a permanent job, and then promptly is terrible like everyone expected.

This is my biggest fear. We give O the job when Jimbo and Herman would be willing to take it. He's nowhere near their league. Now as a recruiter and motivator hell yes, but I think this is a real possibility.
