re: Nick Saban's last year at Alabama?

When has Saban ever not seemed miserable or frustrated? Why do you think he's so driven? Saban will eventually leave Bama, I mean he's closing in on 64 and his 9th year at Bama. When it does happen, we will celebrate his legacy and the titles he brought us, and then go pay a ridiculous amount for whoever we want to succeed him.

Not even close. This will be Saban's ninth season as coach of the Tide, which is at least 2-3 more than I hoped for when his arrival was announced. When he leaves I will simply be thankful for what he has done for the University of Alabama and wish him well.

He's contemplating retirement...being more involved with his Mercedes dealerships. The last class he will see through to graduation just signed.

So the Lane Train starts next year
You know even as an LSU fan I am sick of hearing about the Saban's Gone Threads. Starting to get very old.
Anyway Here's to the Start of a New Football Season.

I can’t support it by reportable facts but it is said that OP wears sundresses, eats cucumber sandwiches and likes to have tea parties with his stuffed animals.
Presser at 5.
LOI in 3 weeks.
Heh.
If it's his last year, his time was appreciated. I know if I was his age and had that much money, I'd be chillin' by the pond watching the ducks chit in the yard.
Is it Thursday yet?

Good question. The majority of LSU "fans" are too dumb to realize that he left baton Rouge and went to the pros and not alabama. Anyone with a half a brain knew he was eventually going to the nfl. He did some great things for LSU, and I for one, am thankful for his time here in BR. Bama called and nick took the job. Can't blame him for that even though he left miami in an unprofessional way and flat out lied to the fans and organization.

Now that has never happened before.

What makes people mad is not the fact that he left. Nobody expected him to be at OSU forever. We understand that LSU was too good an opportunity to pass up. Its how he left. Its the fact that he knew he was gone before the season was over and pretty much gave up on recruiting. There is no excuse for him not even offering Felix Jones a scholly when he would have been just about a lock to come here. There is no excuse for him to be on the phone with LSU during halftime of a bowl game or even during the gameday.

Pretty sure that Nick is universally loathed, and it has nothing to do with jealousy

Scott Roussel - President - Coaching News Network LLC (FootballScoop, etc...) - FootballScoop.com - Happy person. Love my wife and kids. Originally from NOLA.
He knows the Mannings, but I'd not exactly say he's "friends" with the Mannings. He knows Cutcliffe and has used that connection to attend a lot of various coaching clinics and camps. He knows some coaches, but most of his connections are lower level (both in terms of position and school) coaches.
He and his brother Pete (who was a camp hoping bartender after Pat Sullivan fired him from Samford) compete with one another on the "Football/Coaching Scoop" business. That business is not about accuracy as much as it is page views. Page views = impressions = ad sales. Those brothers hate each other and care more about making the other look bad than they do being accurate.
